According to Tesla, should the 48v battery be discharged (so you can't enable the HV battery), you can jump-start with 12v or 48v. They have additional circuitry to detect the voltage, and if 12v, step it up to 48v. Very clever!
Very useful. But yeah, DC-DC converters like this are a commodity item. The surprise to me is not that it could be done, but that Tesla actually did something HELPFUL two owners/service people.
My CT ran out of juice, tried jumping it but didn’t work so replaced the 48 volt battery and couldn’t get it to power up to charge, I did a hard reset. Still in limp mode and can’t get it to charge
Did anyone else have any similar issues and advice on what is required to get charging again

Sounds like a more serious issue than the 48v battery running down (or failing). Perhaps the DC-DC inverter has failed. It should still be in warranty - why not have Tesla fix it?
