How close was your Tesla Energy quote to actual cost?

Assuming your panel doesn't need upgraded & you don't have to move panels or anything like that (to dodge a gas meter, etc) -- then you can likely expect to pay exactly what's quoted. My quote was precisely what I paid.

PG&E charges double for energy put onto grid as a penalty without PTO

FWIW, here in Vegas we have smart meters with high-resolution accuracy as well -- but they still have to put a different smart meter in to measure export-vs-import.

PG&E charges double for energy put onto grid as a penalty without PTO

If you didn't have PTO and your meter wasn't able to actually measure import-vs-export, then it's hard to fault the utility IMO. I was annoyed at the timeliness of getting PTO, but I also understand that they need to be able to both have some mechanism to ensure worker safety & have the...

PG&E charges double for energy put onto grid as a penalty without PTO

I talked to the utility inspector here in Vegas when he came to "inspect" (really was majority just to swap meters) -- he said it's pretty common that people here will turn their system on before they get PTO. He said the main problem with that is that the standard meter's tracking device...

    WTB: Additional Powerwall 2

Already have 2 PW2s, looking to add up to two additional PWs. I'm located in Las Vegas & am willing to pay a fair/competitive price. I'd be willing to travel within approx. 6-hours drive for pickup or, alternatively, to arrange freight shipping if pickup isn't realistic due to location...

    Solar Edge access wait time?

Took me 1.5 weeks -- that was about a month ago.

Backing up EVSE - Am I overthinking this?

+1 -- I'd like to be able to do this, too. I receive only 80% net-metering credit -- I'd rather top-up my Tesla, up to 75%, before beginning to export, simply for the sake of it being the higher efficiency usage/storage of that energy [only slightly, after accounting for losses, but even still...

    Understanding the powerwall settings

I'm in Vegas & on "EV Rider" TOU net-metering (80%) plan. We're currently in the "Winter" rates, which means electricity is extremely cheap for me too, right now it ranges from $0.05 to $0.07 per kWh -- pretty darn cheap!! During this time of year, I have the PWs set to "Self-Powered" with my...

Tesla App Shows 50% Solar Production vs SolarEdge & Utility

It's a 3rd party app -- I'm a software developer by trade & actually started writing the code for similar, and then stumbled onto it while researching the API. It doesn't do quite as much as I'd ideally want it to; literally, the only functionality it has is what you see in my screenshot...

V2grid (Vehicle to Grid) and Tesla

I work from home. I purchased my 2018 Model S P100D new, under 50 miles on it, on the last day of 2018. Today, it only has ~7k miles on it and virtually zero battery degradation; and I love the vehicle, too. :) That said, it absolutely kills me to have 2 Powerwalls [which were pretty...

Tesla App Shows 50% Solar Production vs SolarEdge & Utility

Yeah, the slight difference (maybe 5% -- relatively small though) between SE/inverter reporting & the Tesla app's data has been that way for me the entire time, and I similarly attributed it to either DC-vs-AC or potentially even just slight discrepancy/inaccuracy in the way the CTs / Neurio...

Tesla App Shows 50% Solar Production vs SolarEdge & Utility

Thank you -- I'll check again after sunset tonight. Quick update, I just noticed that my Tesla app numbers for today are suddenly matching the SolarEdge data, apparently starting sometime in the last hour or so. In the "Performance" tab of the Tesla app, when I look at "Yesterday" it's still...

Tesla App Shows 50% Solar Production vs SolarEdge & Utility

Interesting. I'm guessing that it's purely a software issue since it sounds like others are seeing similar. The bit "weirder"/more perplexing question is, where exactly is that energy going -- it's either going to my storage or to the grid, and I'm guessing it's the latter, but I can't really...

Tesla App Shows 50% Solar Production vs SolarEdge & Utility

How would I reset the TEG? Something I can do via browser to its IP and/or hostname, or via flipping breakers? Indeed, it seems strange that it worked fine previously -- for all data prior to today, my Tesla app is completely consistent with the SolarEdge reporting (+/- 1%-ish at least) --...

Tesla App Shows 50% Solar Production vs SolarEdge & Utility

Just in case it matters or is helpful: Tesla iPhone app version: 3.10.9 Powerwall version: 1.50.2 I do use a third party app on my mac to display some basic solar/PW stats [the "power flow" UI basically] on the macOS menu bar, but it's just accessing the data from the Tesla API for visual...
