Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

I guess the opinion on FWD is pretty divided. Personally, without FWD I would rather buy a model Y. Yes it might not be the most practical, but that's what makes model X cool, kind of the X factor (pun intended).

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

I just got my model x half a year ago. My first impression seeing the interior update was: - Wow, damn, that's a big revamp, looks sleek, did I make a mistake not waiting a bit more After couple of minutes more looking at it: - Ok, so all they did was just replacing the vertical screen to...

    2021 Q7 vs X ?

I came from 3 BMWs. My experience with german cars is that interiors are nice yes, but they get old really fast and you won't appreciate it months, or even weeks in. Then they get boring and old. The inconveniences and cons of an ICE, as well as the clunkiness of german software never goes away...

    Moving from 2016 Model S P90D to 2021 Model X - considerations

Driving wise, a model S performance or even long range will definite be much more fun. Model X non performance version drives like a heavy car it is. Still pretty fast and powerful, but not super car level of a performance S, feels a lot more mundane. However, nowadays I don't find myself...

Tesla is not willing to fix those common issues for my Model X

They fixed the squeaky door for me as well. When I told the service advisor of the issue, he just commented "Oh another one". A mechanic took a look to verify the issue and told me they will get it fixed.

Used Teslas now 1 year / 10k mile warranties

Not my experience with BMW warranties as well. They actively try to not cover anything. 1. My BMW 5 series headrest leather peeled. Common problem due to low quality leather from what I googled. BMW told me not covered under warranty - If I want to fix it I will need to pay over $800 for the...

File a complaint against the service facility at Santa Clara

Try Burlingame service center. I had good experiences there. Santa Clara might be a lot busier with more tesla owners in the south bay vs peninsula.

First day problems cost me a garage door and sheet metal damage

The auto garage function is quite flaky. I had a similar incidence when it opened my garage as I was driving off from home. When I came back, found a police notice saying they found my garage door open and helped to close it. Turned the functionality off ever since.

Anyone thinking about an VW ID.4 Instead?

My Leaf was a 2017. I got a 3 year lease for just $99 a month. Honestly, it's OK, but it's just ok. Zero attempts at luxury/comfort, just a plain boring commute car. - Insulation was bad. If you think Tesla have loud highway noise, wait till you drive a Leaf. - Thin glass and windshield...

Anyone thinking about an VW ID.4 Instead?

After having owned a nissan leaf, not getting another non-tesla EV. The nice thing about Tesla is that it's a tech company trying to make cars. For small fit and finishes it might not be the best, but it's spectacularly amazing for the things that most people really care about. User experience...

    Feeling Cheated

Service is not their strong suit. My model X has low tire pressure the 2nd day I took delivery. They could've at least pumped the air to the tire before selling me the car. Had to pump the air myself, good thing I wasn't half way on a long trip.

    Model X: Insurance

Liability is definitely covered. It's not legal to have no liability coverage. Liability part is provided by a traditional insurance company that Tesla uses. You can add spouse or any other person to your insurance as well, same as every other insurance I have used.

    Model X: Insurance

I think I would trust the insurance provided by the maker of the cars more considering they will be the one fixing the car if it gets into an accident. Kind of like how I would trust AppleCare+ more for fixing my iphone than some random bestbuy insurance. It's also backed by an actual insurance...

Battery day disappointments?! Elon on twitter

Glad I didn't wait for battery day to buy my model x. It's just plaid model s announcement.

    Model X: Insurance

If you are in California, Tesla's own insurance should always be the cheapest. I was using Geico, got a quote for $350 a month for my model X. Asked Tesla insurance for quote for same coverage, got a quote for $115 a month which no other insurance providers could beat.
