J1772 Charging Lock - Prevent unauthorizzed disconnection at public charging stations

CapturePro customers please read this data, below. I wanted to share some recent esoterica about the charging port locking modes of Model S, and describe a very rare but possible situation and how to work around it. The summary is: if your charge port ever fails to unlock, make sure that the...

Charge Port Characteristics - rare but possible concerns

I wanted to share some recent esoterica about the charging port locking modes of Model S, and describe a very rare but possible situation and how to work around it. The summary is: if your charge port ever fails to unlock, make sure that the shore power level is reduced below ~5-7A. In nearly...

    Houston, TX

Quick comment on valet parking. Even though many hotels state that only valet parkers may drive valet cars, I've found on three occasions that if I asked for the bell station and talk to the bell captain, that they said they would allow me to park my own car. In all cases it was one in and one...

    Model S - Trunk Lighting

I also looked at these options early on, and I have a simple engineering question: what about the concept of using more power on that controlled (switched) loop than it was designed for? I haven't measured the existing light but my best guess is that it pulls about 50-75mA at 12V (resistor...

Vendor T Sportline 19x8.5" TST Wheels For Sale for the Tesla Model S

These are gorgeous. My only concerns would be whether any issues with running gear on my warantee would be blamed on non-OEM wheels... this would be bad and more than make up for the cost savings on tires, etc. IMHO.

    pete8314's Key Fob Cover

I'd like to point out that I stated the fact that products with manufacturers logos were a dangerous thing to mess with; and, I was booed from the stage. It's a sensitive subject for anyone who has been trying to work with the Tesla Marketing team (snicker) for over 12 months on licensing...

J1772 Charging Lock - Prevent unauthorizzed disconnection at public charging stations

Quick Update: things are working great for the CapturePro on all the latest software. This thread looks pretty unfinished considering no comments since late October 2013... but everything is working and CapturePro is available. david

Tesla Model S Side Marker Bulb Replacement

I've wanted to do this for a while - kill off the last non-LED bulb (that I know of). David

Accessing battery terminals for inverter attachment

No, actually there are inverters that work as an inverting 'island', providing their own timing for the AC frequency, and do not require a existing grid connection. These are NOT grid-tied.

So sorry to hear this! Keep your chin up. David

New "feature" I found - you must exit from the driver's door or else...

I'm taking this way OT... my apologies. Any other questions I'll take to another thread. It's a hard decision. I worry that if sold as a product, I'd take (heavy) liability for the safety of the car when in use - there might be some legalese I could use,... I don't know. I'd actually wanted...
