    TeslaMate [megathread]

I used it for a year, trouble free, and the above then happened twice within the space of about a month so whilst I'm open minded and recognise I don't have the insight of the Tesla techs their logs and diagnostic tools, I remain somewhat skeptical about the conclusion reached. I've turned off...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

I have happily used a 3rd party datalogger app (Teslamate) for a little over a year and have enjoyed the stats it provides. Having an API, albeit not officially supported, is a great part of Tesla ownership and, like many of you I'm sure, it certainly it tickles my inner geek! Last week I put...

24 hours with the Polestar 2

Great review! I really enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Holiday rentals - Do you ask if it’s ok to charge?

This has already been pointed out but your business model is likely to get you in trouble! You need to read this from Ofgem. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/sites/default/files/docs/2003/01/1970-mrp_5.pdf

    2020.28.1

Replying to myself... There's a tweet saying it's a priority so fingers crossed!

    2020.28.1

It bugs be that Tesla can't read the speed limit. Other lesser cars can do that. Is it patented and they can't get a licence? Have they signed something in their initial partnership with MobileEye preventing them from doing this?

    Lockdown State Of Charge

Even pressing the power of button won't eliminate so called phantom drain, where charge is lost from the battery. (Not entirely sure what that button does because the car wakes up very quickly if you press the brake pedal so definitely it's not all shutdown!) Perhaps the most useful thing to...

    Does anyone wave anymore?

Driving along a country road the other day. Wife gives Tesla a wave. Didn't get a wave back. Slightly puzzled look on Tesla drivers face. Wife bemoans nobody waves anymore. I point out we're not driving a Tesla today. :-)

The most efficient EV I own......

Keep pedalling! That's like a hybrid who's battery efficiency is measured on a petrol driven journey! :p

    Black Screen

Had this the other day too.(software is 2020.4.1) Pressing brake pedal a few times, opening the door all did nothing but eventually it woke up by itself without needing a reset. Quite disconcerting but hasn't happened again.

    New Tesla Home Charger UK?

Looks nice. It might now be "smart" enough to attract the OLEV grant and hopefully they've included DC leak protection too...I guess we'll have to wait and see. I couldn't find any new manuals for it. (Personally I'm quite happy to have the older design because it's a relatively dumb device so...

    Excellent service - Bristol SC

I'd like to second this. We had a great service experience this weekend and the staff at Bristol SC have really restored my faith in Tesla customer service. Also, I think we may have met there... were you the nice gentleman that told us about the key fob? :-) I wish we'd got one sooner (Tesla...

    Interesting UK range test

For some geeky laughs : 6.5 kVA generator. Site says it can run at 3/4 load, 4.875 kVA, for 7 hours. So 4.875 kVA / 230 V = 20 A. (Lazily assuming power factor of 100% ... probably it's worse.) According to this Everything You Need To Know About Charging A Tesla a 20 A charge would get you 19...

Tesla Model 3, another charger recommendations

Everyone in the chain just pockets the free cash, either through hugely overpriced EVSE or inflated installation costs. From the taxpayer point of view the scheme is very poor value.

What is Tesla service like post delivery?

You might have posted on the wrong thread. Or it could just be me! I too prefer the wider single deck and also discovered traffic aware cruise control works inside the train too for a lazy loading experience! Sucks about Flexiplus - I guess you get either the lounge or the high car but not both.
