You really shouldn't be driving a Model S or even any big battery EV if you believe the situation is this dire. The extra performance in the Model S contributes to the emissions. The extra materials required to make a Model S contribute. What are you doing??

Are you sure? Seems like it's for towing.

Towing is an interesting one. The parts catalog has a tow hitch for NA listed, and the service manual has retrofit instructions and includes instructions specifically for NA. I wonder if you can request to get a hitch installed form the service center.

Slight chance that improves things. They seem to know exactly what causes the issue and in over 2 years they haven't fixed it. You'd think a slight component redesign to make it a little tighter or the latch a little more springy is all that's necessary. That's what it the latch issue sounds...

Why refuse to tape it? Takes a few minutes and fixes the issue. I had to remove and re-apply tape after a year. Not ideal, but better than dealing with the constant creaking.

Did we ever figure out what happened with those? I don't recall anyone saying they were delivered a car that was half a year old. I remember while they were there gathering dust, new ones were rolling off the line and being delivered.
