Power Steering failure and brief FSD experience

My new 23 MYP’s power steering stopped working suddenly. Performed a hard reboot and it started working again, however, it felt loose and irregular. Dropped it off at a SC that I’ve not been to before and the experience was pretty great. Loaner provided ASAP and repairs completed in ~48 hours...

Should I take delivery of this model Y?

Whether or not the SC can do a door alignment properly depends on experience, tooling, and the nature of the misalignment. For example, the Tesla SC may look at this door and think “Ha, easy, I’ll just move the striker in and up 1mm or two.” That could be the appropriate remedy, but it’s more...

Should I take delivery of this model Y?

It’s hard to tell how difficult this will be without seeing the sill and front door. I would ask them to send it to a body shop for the repair. Do not allow them to do it at the SC.

Delivery day didn't go so well. Options and decisions to be made, seeking input and advice.

Pictures would be nice, but from the sounds of it just should simply reject. As for the blacklist, Tesla repurchased my first MYLR and I rejected 2 after that. If they have a blacklist I’m not sure what it takes to get on it.

3D Printed Rigid Hatch Stops (to reduce uneven road noise)

@ilovecoffee what is your theory on hatch adjustment? Have you attempted it? I had issues with my 2020 Model Y LR but it absolutely did not have booming. I have a friend with two 23 Model Y’s and he swears that neither car booms. My car is extremely boomy, and while I’ve resolved most of it...

    Build quality issues are exaggerated!

Ended up adjusting the doors myself and I’m petty happy with the result. Alignment issues tend to cascade to adjacent panels so I had to adjust both doors and the front fender. Tesla.

3D Printed Rigid Hatch Stops (to reduce uneven road noise)

Getting this right takes a lot of trial and error, at least in my experience. You’re better off making your own out of 3/4” PVC end caps, in my opinion.

2023 MY Performance owners, what car did you replace?

‘21 Lexus RX350L. World-class precision and craftsmanship but slower than a SR+ locked to chill

    Build quality issues are exaggerated!

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do about the door alignment on my 2023 MYP. The passenger side looks pretty good but the driver side doors are recessed into body molding: As I said the passenger side looks OK: I’d be inclined to attempt to align the drivers side into a similar...

23 MYP: Vibration in brake pedal

My 2023 MYP exhibits significant brake pedal vibration when braking at low speeds. Has anyone experienced this? It’s intermittent and feels a bit like the ABS system activating.

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

I might give 3/8” tubing a shot. I have 5/16” in there currently. Better yet, I should probably just learn to live with it.

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

A loose 5.5mm at the widest. About 5mm on the other side.

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

Well, things were great until I decided I didn’t like the gaps on the hatch. I noticed that the hatch’s striker was off-center and pulling the otherwise centered hatch off-center on close. Ezpz, move the striker, right? While I’m at it, maybe I should move the striker down too, right? Gaps were...

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

My new 23 MYP exhibited buffeting and booming. 90% resolved with the vinyl tube trick! If you’re experiencing ear pressure or fatigue, I recommend installing the vinyl tubing into your hatch gasket. Makes a huge difference.
