    Model 3 Highland Performance

Both the US and MIC cars are battery limited, the power limit of the MIC LG battery being less than the Panasonic battery, thus the lower stated power. The MIC LG battery also charges slower, and has less capacity, so the car also has less range. So, in the UK, we pay way more than in the US...

2022 Model 3 Performance - Vibration in Steering wheel

If you indicate before you change lanes, and it doesn't do it, you'll then know it's the lane departure warning.

    Brake Lights.......at standstill

I’m with richrootes on this one. On all my previous manual cars I apply the handbrake when stopped, not the footbrake. As he said, when it’s wet or dark, and you are sitting in traffic, brake lights on the car in front of me hurt my eyes, especially as every other car seems to be a tank of an...

    Tyre Wear

That is caused by excessive toe, I suspect well out of limits. On the Performance model, due to the standard camber being quite low, driving it hard through corners will give you excessive wear of the outer edge, not inner. Camber on it’s own won’t cause this sort of wear If toe is low. I run -2...

Tesla Announces Recall Of Almost 2,800 Model 3s Built between 2019 - 2021 & Model Ys built between 2020-2021

That’s just bad engineering practice. When fitting a part which is secured by more than one bolt, all bolts should be engaged loosely into their relevant threads, before torquing them all evenly. Fitting and torquing one bolt first is a schoolboy error!

    Lug nuts

I use black forged steel nuts from Circuit Performance and I’m really happy with them. Forged Steel Spline Drive Lug Nut for Aftermarket Wheels: 14x1.5 Black - Circuit Performance

Track noob, need advice on my local track layout for car setting on camber

Do you want different grip levels on left and right handers and a car that turns under braking? If not, set camber the same on both sides.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Ultimately, it’ll be down to the height of the caliper. The Porsche 6 pots are slim! No, not yet, it’s on the to-do list, but that‘s a bummer if they foul. I’ll have to look at machining down the calipers on my mill.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I use the NT03+M (amongst others!) in the same size on my Evo, and the discs are 365mm.

    UP vs MPP Coilover

I fitted the front lower arm bushes with my 10T press no problem at all. Helps to have experience of such things, like heating the arm to 100 deg C before pressing out old bushes and pressing in new ones.

    Rear Toe alignment preferences

I probably shouldn’t compare my Evo to a Tesla, as the suspension geometry is different, but slight toe-in at the rear and toe out at the front worked well on track at all speeds. Car also has plated diffs front and rear, and spring rates and anti-roll bars set-up for zero understeer! I tried...

    Rear Toe alignment preferences

Jeez, that must be scary at high speed corner entry! On my race car, I run the opposite, toe-out at the front for decent turn-in with slight toe-in at the rear for some stability.

Will stock M3P rotors be able to withstand the bites from Carbotech Xp24/Xp20 ?

I’ve used XP24’s very hard on track in a Renault Megane RS Cup, with the standard Brembo discs, and the discs were fine in regards to wear. They did suffer a bit in regards to heat, as did the calipers that were permanently discoloured after one full trackday. As with all discs and high...

    Rear Toe alignment preferences

More toe-in at the rear improves stability and reduces rotation speed into a corner in my experience because the outer rear wheel in a turn is always trying to straighten the car due to it’s increase in slip angle. Same with the front end, toe-in will increase understeer, but improve stability...
