Inspired by NYT Tesla test, here are my consumer trials of some products (humor)

 Now that's a great piece of journalism ...

Gallons of Light - Tesla Model S Supercharger Commercial

Fantastic, beautiful - great job! Let's give Gangnam Style a run for its clicks ...

Speculation on what "TESLIVE" actually is?

Given that Tesla is very inspired by Apple, I believe it is some form av annual conference, which they will also use as a channel for new announcements. Probably they will host it at their factory and broadcast it live on the Internet as well. What will be announced this summer? A final model X...

    Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive

That's one butt ugly car. How can they even put a Mercedes logo on it?

Cost Comparison (Model S vs. ICE)

Great calculation. However, for comparison purposes, you can actually reduce the own business assumption. Since the extra income per mile you get is the same, and the number of miles driven is also the same, it will add the same amount to both sheets - right?

    Tesla Marketing

It seems Tesla is spending on - of all things - search ads ... These are Google's targeted ads. The reason you see all EV ads is that their targeting has decided you are an EV-interested consumer. If I was selling, say, organic oranges, I could also choose to target EV-interested consumers...

    Tesla Motors Forum Problem

Are you guys sure they're not just moderating the forums like here - moving posts to other threads? Because there is no lack of complaints on the Tesla Motors forums. If I had been an evil marketer wishing to remove content, I'd start with "Problems with Car", "Floor Mats stink", "Door opens by...

Edmunds recommends Tesla Model S over BMW Hybrid

http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/activehybrid-7/2013/ "Compared to other luxury flagship hybrid sedans like the 2013 Lexus LS 600h L, 2013 Mercedes S400 Hybrid and 2013 Porsche Panamera Hybrid, the BMW does fare pretty well. It's quicker and more efficient than the Mercedes and less expensive than...

Model S vs. E63 AMG Mercedes 0-110 mph race

But why does the Model S have a lower max speed? I don't think it matters much in practice, just curious if it is by design or if ICEs still have an advantage in delivering higher max speeds?

What's your idea for a Tesla commercial?

My suggestion would be to do a fully crowdsourced campaign - ask Tesla buyers to send videos of themselves and their families on the road, then just mix it with some great music (cause without the auto noise, it'll be awfully quiet). Show how people love the cars they have, how they name them...

Model S battery can not be replaced with a different size battery

Your car won't be "outdated" because new batteries come along. It's a great car today, it'll be a great car then too. But of course you won't recoup what you paid for your car. That's the way it is with cars. I think Tesla is doing the right thing. If they can't promise it can be upgraded, they...

Other cars with wireless firmware updates?

Does that mean there aren't significant issues in your Volt's firmware? Or that GM decided it'd be too hard to distribute the update?

Proposal to TM: Rewards for referrals from existing owners.

I think it's entirely reasonable, but just as TD1, I think it's the wrong way to go. It undermines the value of the recommendation, and it might also create weird incentives. Multi-Level-Marketing Schemes have to do it, but I don't think Tesla has to. Better to spend that money on making the...

Other cars with wireless firmware updates?

I think the way Tesla are able to update their cars wirelessly is pure genius (except for the occasional half-baked-release). Is this unique, or are there other cars out there with this functionality?
