First FSD beta crash reported on NHTSA. Driver claims beta “fought for control” even after they intervened which I’ve never heard of or experienced happening. Sounds fake and hope it is.

This must be how driving instructors feel. A bit of stress, but worth it to know that you’re working to put a safer driver on the road. In our case, we are at the beginning of putting millions of safer vehicles on the road. Call me crazy but the whole experience has been exhilarating for me...

One thing I learned is if you rest your foot on the accelerator, it seems to nullify the AP exemption. Another is the “follow distance” is only measured when you’re between 1s and 3s away from a vehicle ahead. So I was 7 car lengths for an entire drive, but never got “credit” for that as good...
