Not much heat build up with Regenerative braking. But holes could easily be added if your an aggressive driver who uses your brakes a lot instead of regen. These are just prototypes and they are glued to the tire.

I did some tests with 19" slipstreams and I saw a 3 to 4 percent improvement when I had the covers on.

The bracket was modelled using CAD software and then machined using a CNC machine. It is definitely the most expensive piece of this assembly.

I have a different set of wheels with my winter tires, unfortunately they are a little different from the 21" turbine wheels and my bracket will not fit on them so i can not do winter testing at this time. My bracket does work with the 19" slipstreams though and I have used them on those wheels.

Tesla would not put aero covers on the model 3 and briefly sell aero rims for no reason. The reason they sold them was because they provide higher efficiency.

My tests fell within reason as to what result i expected. I set the cruise control at a certain speed and never adjust anything unless i have to. I have done 4 separate tests now and I would bet my results are correct plus minus a half a percent.

It was a round trip. I went to a location noted the energy use then drove back and noted again. Once with them on and once with them off, giving me 4 data points. not just 2.
