    Cancelling my reservation

Its not a presumption. Elon has set a timeline for production on the model 3 many times in conference calls. Those estimates put MANY people in line for full tax credit. We didn't invent those numbers, we interpreted them. If this was a 100K car or the tax credit wasn't expiring soon, throwing...

    Cancelling my reservation

Make that two of us. I reserved the model 3, but the baby is here and the model 3 is not. my old 2-seater wouldn't work so we bought an xc60. i recommend it if you're going the ICE route.

    Cancelling my reservation

i thought the intent was to bring the EVs to the masses. if by masses, you mean upper middle class, then elon succeeded. with this delay, EVERY one of the 200K teslas delivered with a full tax credit in the US will be to those who can afford a $45K car (or much greater). All of those fringe...

    Model 3 reservations are non-transferable

And how does that affect tax credit status? Do I apply for it and pass on to them? Does it make the vehicle ineligible?

    Model 3 reservations are non-transferable

Soliciting comments from passionate Tesla fans that may affect their tax credit status is probably not going to get you unbiased answers. You'll probably get a lot of the canned 'no transfers and tax credit is only for the reserver' responses -- which may be true, but to truly find out, you'll...

    EV Tax Credit

Curious on status of the tax credit. Anyone have figures on how many US teslas sold? What are the projections for the 200K car being delivered, with Model 3 deliveries not hitting elon's projections?

    Let's talk financing rates

Sure, rates are low -- but its also a depreciating asset. and with 10 years of stock market gains in a cyclical market, I'd bet on 2-4 bad years before that loan is paid. Everyone choses their gamble..I'm not betting on this president =p

    Let's talk financing rates

just bought a car at 2.19% for 5 years. my bank has very similar rates to what OP provided. Not sure Telsa Financing is as willing to beat bank rates as traditional dealers are.

    Let's talk financing rates

my pointer would be not to take a 72 month auto loan..

    Automatic door unlock

You'd still need to push/pull the door open (based on whether you're inside/outside) when you unlock via button. My understanding is that the current button inside the car only props the door open a slight bit. It isn't some sort of hydraulic hinge that auto opens like falcon wing doors on the...

No tax credit good for Tesla?

It wouldn't be be bad if it happened in 18 months. It would not be good at all if it happened next month. Tesla has 500K reservations lined up, and deals with part suppliers based on that demand. I'm sure cutting those numbers will hurt the pricing they are receiving from partners, and thus the...

GOP tax reform bill would end the $7500 EV tax credit (and other tax related grousing and grumbling)

Unfortunately the oil industry has much deeper (and richer) ties than the EV community. Is there even such a thing as an EV 'lobbyist'?.. I'm hopeful but not optimistic about this tax credit getting maimed. Maybe they can put it off for a year, but I really doubt it'll be taken off the table.

GOP tax reform bill would end the $7500 EV tax credit (and other tax related grousing and grumbling)

This is what Elon gets for leaving Trumps council  I don't know how this can be spun as a positive for tesla going forward...sure it helped them launch the brand, but they are fully invested in electric. without incentives, ICEs become more attractive. I can see a TON of...

Anyone else tired of the "anti" selling of M3?

I reckon not many...its only a month delay. If you waited it out over a year, a month isn't a ton -- thought im sure it seems like end of the world to many. that being said, i might be one of the cancellations if my father in law doesn't want my reservation. i bought a different car 3 weeks ago.
