What version of Used Model X would you recommend?

If you buy any X before 2022, you will be disappointed. The 22+ X's have 250kw charging and phone as a key with keycards. If you do say a 2020 X, you must carry a fob and your highest charging power may be around 210kw. Earlier models are even less. Look up "Raven" and that is what is...

    long term parking

The cameras are always recording. The triggers do nothing more than save the event. Think of this way, when an event is triggered, there are x minutes of video before the event occurred. Just like home WiFi cameras. They always record, but the "save" event is what is triggered. Therefore...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Let me try to help you. I worked at SXM. The car radio's whether they be a Tesla model or GM model or Ford model, use common SXM receivers and chipsets. Tesla's volume is so low, being only on S and X models, its not a custom design. Tesla can reboot a car infotainment system with a 2...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Unfortunately even my Model X will lose signal under heavy trees on occasion. Any internal antenna will perform worse than an external antenna, provided its attached to a magnetic surface. External is your best bet to solve/reduce it.

    SiriusXM on Model Y

A restart could take the radio offline as the refresh signal of the RADIO ID with subscription info is only there for about a second or two in the data stream. My radio's including a Model X came to life while refreshing the radio from my phone at the SXM website, and it came to life within a...

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Refresh=SXM sends data to your radio. Rebooting the car or radio does not force SXM to send a refresh signal over the air. The only consistent way to do that is via the website, enter the Radio ID and tap REFRESH.

    Homelink retrofit install failure

Except if the internet goes out in your neighborhood, MyQ won't work. Your Y will have an issue. But with Homelink also there, you have a backup. That said, no need to pay for MyQ if you have Homelink.

    Arbitration - Advice needed

I beat Tesla in Arbitration once, and a second time in small claims court. Two different cars and issues. Unfortunately too many of us have to use legal means to get good customer service.

WiFi not connecting after software update

Assuming you have a very strong wifi signal at home and rebooting the car doesn't work, reboot your home router.

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Can you share the file for the slightly modified antenna mount please? I would like to try it with a NVGA3 vs the smaller older antenna that I have, but have to take it somewhere and pay a bit to have it printed. No printer here Thank you

    SiriusXM on Model Y

Follow up to my posts of Feb 27-28. Finally the part arrived at SC part no.1622932-00-B. Was a bit unhappy with a 6/22 manufacture date but it was new, not a scratch anywhere. The NGV3 antenna on order for 10 days is lost somewhere by USPS. I scoured my electronics stash and found a new...

    All discussion of Rivian Automotive

So you would buy a 2nd charger? Most owners don't when they have 2 cars so left or right it won't matter. Like I stated, I live this with and have little problem with it and you are imagining it and making it a nightmare. Are you not more annoyed at the Tesla lousy customer service? The...

    All discussion of Rivian Automotive

What will you do with 2 Tesla's parked side by side in the garage? Even with both on the drivers side? Your situation becomes the Rivian issue where you now have the same problems again, but with a 2nd Tesla even though the charge port is on the drivers' side for both of them.

I have 2 Teslas and one wall connector. What you describe reads like my home garage. I have to cross behind one of the Tesla's all the time to plug in the other one. Its not a big deal at home. Just an extra 2 seconds.
