I just drove by on March lane and there's a worker installing the transformer. It's in it's spot. The door was open and he was working on it.

I just saw the Modesto thread with the transformer having arrived. Took about 3 months there compared to 6 here. Modesto is less than an hour away and PGE territory as well.

Why can't tesla order the transformer from somewhere else and install it themselves? This is a bit ridiculous. 6+ month wait for a transformer.

You're right it is about 200. 240 is under unrealistic conditions and is a lie by Tesla.

Try calling your local Tesla shop. I found that a lot of parts they sell are much cheaper than available used online.

This is not the best route for anyone that lets a friend or spouse drive their Tesla without being on the policy. Coverage drops dramatically to pennies. $5000 property damage maximum, what a joke. I was seriously considering signing up but I'm glad you posted that link and brought this up.

Tesla should put a little more effort into fixing broken chargers more quickly. The same chargers that were broken at kettleman on the 4th were still broken on the 7th. What surprised me, the 80% limit wasn't suggested or enforced yesterday by the car or app.

Between Harris ranch, kettleman, Bakersfield, and buttonwillow, it was about 70 chargers packed almost the entire day turning a car over every 30-40 minutes. That's a lot of cars.

I was there around the time when that video was filmed. The line was 6 cars deep from when I arrived until I left. About 30 minutes. There was an attendant guiding the cars. 3 or 4 stations were down completely. I timed the time it would take the 6th car to reach a charger which was about 10...
