Petition against crippling Tesla Autopilot in Europe

I don't think a petition can be changed after it's already been signed 2000 times (in a day). And as the regulation is created by a former Daimler engineer and Audi has already asked for an exception, I think it's safe to assume this is a deliberate attempt to block the rise of Tesla in Europe...

Petition against crippling Tesla Autopilot in Europe

A friend of mine started a petition to stop the crippling of Autopilot in Europe, directed at the decision makers in Europe. Please sign to try and make things move. If there are other ways you can contribute to avoid stopping progress, please do. It's up to us! Stop crippling Tesla Autopilot...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

It's an interesting discussion. The advantage to write it to eMMC is that it will be saved upon reboot. Now, a mechanism to copy it to eMMC upon reboot can accommodate for that unless for those times that the system cannot properly shutdown any more. Or when serious problems are suspected, the...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I can add something like this to FreedomEV, in that way it's easy to enable/disable that feature, because in certain cases Tesla Service might want to be able to look at logs beyond reboots. In the enabled case, I can also prune the logfiles more often so they keep a small RAM footprint (we...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

You're probably only interested in those logs which remain after a reboot in those cases where they can't be written anymore. I understand why Tesla chose this solution. But it's always a tradeoff. Are there a lot of actual cases where the eMMC is dying on the Tesla MCUs?

    From Tesla Hacking to FreedomEV

Having root access is a prerequisite. I see 3 ways: - Someone on this forum might be able to help out. - Tesla Service technicians and third party service providers with Toolbox access should also be able to provide it. - There are also rumours that Tesla is considering to give root access to...

    Software versie 9.0

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Please stop hitting the server. It will not 'accidentally' surface on my server. (especially you; chinese IP 202.38.75.150, come on: 700 hits in 14 hours?) Tesla asked me kindly to remove the download. So I did. They pointed out to me that there might be regulatory issues in certain regions...
