Brand new owner. Puzzled by Autopilot FSD Speed Limit Offset

One thing that frequently gets people is that they set make changes to their Easy Entry profile and not the profile they are using while driving. If you have it set to +5 and the speed limit sign on the screen say x, when you engage it should display (x+5) to the left of the speed limit with MAX.

TACC “vision only” on radar equipped Model 3 … phantom braking getting scary

"went from 78 mph to just about 55 mph and stayed at 55 mph for seconds before speeding up again" I can't remember anymore, but does non-FSDBeta TACC slow down and speed up for speed limit changes? (Or does it now?) On FSDBeta TACC, a wrong speed limit would be my most common cause for a speed...

    HW4 for true FSD

That message is coming from software. Someday they will [probably] update the software to understand that when it is dark out, the side cameras will sometimes see mostly darkness. A similar thing happens with fresh snow in the daylight. Driving next to a snow covered field, the camera sees...

What will FSD look like when fully released?

My answer is more like: If it isn't L4*/L5, then FSD isn't fully released, yet. * I look forward to the debates on this site about whether a car that requires XX feet of visibility can really be called L5...

FSD 10.69.2 highway speed limits safety issue

There are 4 or 5 states that allow one to exceed the posted limit while passing on a two lane highway. For example, MN: (And yes, this has nothing to do with the original post. If the car sees speed limits signs with a lower limit, it will slow down. If you don't like it, use the accelerator...

FSD 10.69.2 highway speed limits safety issue

I had no idea that only a small number of US states have a law allowing for increased speed while passing on a two lane highway. The US could really use some standardization of traffic laws. Quick, name the states that require a driver to stop for a school bus with flashing red lights even...

    FSD Beta 10.69

I am pretty sure recall is being used in this sense: Precision and recall - Wikipedia

    FSD Beta 10.69

Why would the car care about the yellow light? Isn't it something like 40 feet past the stop line when the light turns yellow?

    Waymo

What on earth does this mean? 99.9999% of what? One what per million whats?

Cruise control inappropriately slamming on brakes

So a big part of the problem is that what you want TACC to do and what Tesla wants TACC to do are quite different. Tesla seems to want TACC to also: adjust speed for speed limits adjust speed for curves (and maybe sometimes hills?) stop for red lights/stop signs stop for pedestrians stop for...

    Elon: FSD Beta tweets

One thing that I have never understood is how use of a Level 3 system will be distinguished from distracted driving? If you are sitting in the driver's seat doing non driving activities, it seems like people are going to call the police about you, and the police are going to stop you and likely...

    FSD Beta 10.69

(At least some) two lanes on every entrance roundabouts have this helpful message (Lakeville, MN from Google Maps):

    FSD Beta 10.69

There was a time when Elon liked to use the word superhuman to describe [future] Autopilot abilities. If only the speed limit database wasn't horrible, it would be so easy [I assume] to have the car do perfect superhuman deceleration approaching a reduced speed limit.

    FSD Beta 10.69

What kind of rail crossings do you encounter? I can't off the top of my head think of a crossing that I slow down for.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I would bet that turn is easy to fix. Tesla only has to put something in the map data to tell the car to only make right turns when on Gibbs/Cliff Ave approaching Memorial Blvd.
