Wow, in only half a day the requirements increased by another 9. What are you measuring with your 9s? (microseconds without a death / total microseconds) ... you need more 9s. (trips without any problems / total trips) ... you have an absurd number of 9s,

    Did v12.3 break TACC?

2020.24.5.1 was the first version that would continue through green lights. (It required a lead vehicle.)

    Did v12.3 break TACC?

TACC included with 12.3 no longer changes max speed with speed limit changes. We have sadly been thrown back to 2020.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Tesla hasn't been super consistent in version numbering. I kind of hope they copy Apple. Mac OS 8 came out in 1997. Mac OS 9 came out in 1999. They then stuck with Mac OS 10.x releases for the next TWENTY YEARS. And then 11, 12, 13 and 14. Are you sure FSD 12.85 in 2044 won't be amazing? But...

    Forward collision warning setting

"slamming on brakes when a car 500 feet away turns in front me while I’m using cruise control" Does it involve your car making lots of very loud alarm tones? If not, this has absolutely nothing to do with forward collision warning. If you are confident that a car will cross in front of you...

Silly poll: Which will come first: Tesla Level 3 or Waymo wide release?

I'm curious what people would consider "Waymo wide." It would only take the 2100 largest US cities would cover right around 50% of people in the US. I am just not sure if that is wide enough to be called wide.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

We hope handling 4-way stops is just a matter of feeding more data, but it is also possible the current model just isn't able to make decisions based on what happened seconds ago. What else requires considering what happened seconds ago? Merging/allowing others to merge? Doesn't seem like much else.

how safe do you feel with basic autopilot?

"2015 MS" ... so having absolutely nothing to do with anything that is being talked about, right? A 2015 MS has a rain sensor. A 2015 MS has "Autopilot with convenience features" features provided by Mobileye. "Autopilot with convenience features" is not the basic Autopilot people are talking about.

Is all neural networks really a good idea?

How does the code to check E2E work? What are the inputs? What is it checking? Is the checker more reliable than what it is checking? Then why not just use it? Is the checker less reliable than what it is checking? Then isn't it making the system worse?

    FSD 11.4.4 Runs Red Light

Obviously, to make an interesting demo you need to make something happen that needs to be explained. "I drove straight at constant speed" would be a boring video. The point is not the driving, but the AI explaining what just happened. This would be hilarious on a Tesla. "I swerved around...

Brand new owner. Puzzled by Autopilot FSD Speed Limit Offset

One thing that frequently gets people is that they set make changes to their Easy Entry profile and not the profile they are using while driving. If you have it set to +5 and the speed limit sign on the screen say x, when you engage it should display (x+5) to the left of the speed limit with MAX.

TACC “vision only” on radar equipped Model 3 … phantom braking getting scary

"went from 78 mph to just about 55 mph and stayed at 55 mph for seconds before speeding up again" I can't remember anymore, but does non-FSDBeta TACC slow down and speed up for speed limit changes? (Or does it now?) On FSDBeta TACC, a wrong speed limit would be my most common cause for a speed...

    HW4 for true FSD

What will FSD look like when fully released?

FSD 10.69.2 highway speed limits safety issue

There are 4 or 5 states that allow one to exceed the posted limit while passing on a two lane highway. For example, MN: (And yes, this has nothing to do with the original post. If the car sees speed limits signs with a lower limit, it will slow down. If you don't like it, use the accelerator...

FSD 10.69.2 highway speed limits safety issue

Cruise control inappropriately slamming on brakes

So a big part of the problem is that what you want TACC to do and what Tesla wants TACC to do are quite different. Tesla seems to want TACC to also: adjust speed for speed limits adjust speed for curves (and maybe sometimes hills?) stop for red lights/stop signs stop for pedestrians stop for...

One thing that I have never understood is how use of a Level 3 system will be distinguished from distracted driving? There was a time when Elon liked to use the word superhuman to describe [future] Autopilot abilities. If only the speed limit database wasn't horrible, it would be so easy [I assume] to have the car do perfect superhuman deceleration approaching a reduced speed limit.
