Model X seemingly bricked—black screens all around, reboots don’t work

Mobile service resolved the issue, in talking with the Tech, he first tried reformatting the SD card, but couldn't reach it over the ethernet port, requiring him to swap the card. My first reaction was that I would have rather had the quicker format and re-install, then after a few seconds of...

Model X seemingly bricked—black screens all around, reboots don’t work

As of Wednesday evening, our red MX wouldn't come out of the BSOD (those of a certain age know this reference :D ). I contacted Roadside Assistance for a tow and was informed that since my vehicle was out of it's complimentary Roadside Assistance (52K miles), I would need to pay for the tow...

Model X seemingly bricked—black screens all around, reboots don’t work

We have a 2019 MX, and two 2020 MXs (Dec 2019 and Sept 2020 deliveries) - all three have exhibited this behaviour. One vehicle had to be towed 100 miles from Breckenridge down to Denver. I spoke with my SA while the vehicle was being towed and he indicated that he'd had a couple of other MXs...

Model X Drive System Completely Dead

We have a 2019 MX, and two 2020 MXs (Dec 2019 and Sept 2020 deliveries) - all three have exhibited this behaviour. One vehicle had to be towed 100 miles from Breckenridge down to Denver. I spoke with my SA while the vehicle was being towed and he indicated that he'd had a couple of other MXs...

    TeslaMate Super Thread

Just bought a new MX and it doesn't show up in TeslaMate, my other vehicle additions / changes have all worked correctly. Has anyone else seen this issue? My other Tesla's are all correctly reporting info to TeslaMate, so there doesn't appear to be a connectivity issue to my account - also my...

    Nexen tires?

If you're going with Pirelli Scorpion Verdes, don't put 265s on the front - they are only H rated and you will notice the difference with a vehicle this heavy. After A LOT of discussion with my local tire shop we realized that the 275s will fit on the front rims. I was concerned about rubbing /...

    Tire selection for Model X

To be clear "I want to rule out manufacturing differences on the tire wear." was about Tesla's manufacturing differences not the tire manufacturer... :D

    Tire selection for Model X

By putting the slightly larger tire on the correct sized rim, there is no rubbing. I confirmed by putting the car in it's lowest suspension setting, turning the wheel lock-to-lock and checking clearance with my hand. This is on a 2020 MX, I'll be doing the same thing with my 2019 MX in a week or...

    Tire selection for Model X

OK, I may have found a palatable solution to using the Cross Climate LX 25's or the Scorpion Verde A/S 2s - after a long conversation with my local tire shop (with whom I would buy stock if I could based solely on my personal tire consumption!) - they indicated that the 275/45R20s would fit on...

    Tire selection for Model X

We're on the same page - I'm really frustrated that the two tires with the best reported treadlife don't have a matched set to put on my car. I'm going to have to do something soon, and I really don't want to buy another set of tires I know will only last 13 - 18K miles.

    Tire selection for Model X

Also potentially worth looking into if H rating on the front is deemed ok - the Continental CROSSCONTACT LX25, I'm also contemplating those on the rear and a CROSSCLIMATE SUV on the front which are Y rated. Unfortunately the options with stock wheels seem pretty limited.

    Tire selection for Model X

FYI - The Verde A/S Plus only has a speed rating of H for the front (265/45R20). I would love to consider them as an option, but concerned about that - which was actually one of the drivers for my initial post. - Kevin

    Tire selection for Model X

Has anyone been factoring in the speed rating of the tires? I have seen some people using tires that are H or V rated (vs Y). Most people look at the speed rating and think "I'll never drive 186 MPH" (Y rating), so I'm ok with downgrading to an H rated tire (130/mph) or V rated (150/mph). My...

Poll: Is FSD Worth the Cost?

I have a 2019 M3 with AP only, a 2019 Model X with FSD, and a 2020 Model X with FSD. They all handle AP very well (not perfectly, but very well), FSD for the 2 Model Xs is very good as well, my largest complaint being that we have a lot of construction with lane cones and FSD always wants to...
