Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

Something seems amiss here. By raising it you gained compression travel and lost droop travel. I can't think of many situations where this would be harsher. Could you specify whether this on bumps, holes, or something else? Raising or lowering doesn't change the spring rate, so it's definitely...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

I don't know that anyone has reported that they've tried this, but I don't think 8/10 will be significantly different from those that are running 8/9. Can you elaborate on any higher, they're rougher? Is this something you've tried? Do you want to go higher than the maximum MPP recommended...

2022 Model Y LR Wind Noise.

I had the same concern when I took delivery in March this year. Mobile service rep came out, drove my car around for a few miles (I went with him), and he said it was fine/normal. I ended up installing a wind noise reduction kit from RPM Tesla. I didn't think this made a dramatic difference...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

For the RT kit Ohlins warns not to decrease spring length to less than 198mm due to risk of coil bind. The spring is 200mm so you also can't set it more than that or it won't have tension at full droop. Given these, for this kit you're only supposed to use the ride height adjuster to adjust ride...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

To increase the front ride height you'd want to increase the 245 distance and keep the 198 distance the same. In other words, increase the distance between the height adjuster and spring preload adjuster. I've found the easiest way to do this is to loosen the height adjuster (rotate towards the...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

Please explain further as I don't understand. I've measured this at various points. With the damper reduced by 30mm and the rear spring perch at 0mm I had 51mm of compression travel before the bump stop. I haven't measured with the damper shortened by 40mm but presumably now it's 61mm. I don't...

Absolutely, though how you torque the bolts wouldn't affect the ride height

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

@dsgerbc @tm1v2 Currently my rear hub to fender distance is 415mm. I have the Model Y LR and stock distance is around 432mm, so I'm lowered about 17mm. I'm probably currently around the stock height for the MYP, and definitely still have more ground clearance than an OEM Model 3. With the 12k...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

Problem is even at the recommended settings I didn't have enough compression travel. I was hesitating further shortening the damper and decreasing droop travel, and also with regards to battery clearance. Nonetheless today I shortened the rear dampers 10mm more. I did 40 minutes of...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

I guess I don't know for sure without an external video of the car hiring these bumps, but I can't distinguish from a more gentle weightlessness sensation where I don't think the tires are coming off the ground, and a harsher jolt upwards and crash downwards which I'm assuming is because of lift...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

I actually had a similar situation. Installed the rear first so was running OEM front and RT rear. It actually was a pretty good combo, improved handling and at least at that time I didn't notice as much adverse behavior as I do know. I've had a lot of corresponce with Ohlins USA over the past...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

You have the Redwood performance kit? If so, I think your damping is 30-40% than it is on my RT kit, which is definitely a bigger difference than the 8.3% difference in our rear spring rate. I bought the RT kit hoping this would be my experience. Sadly I'd have to describe it as jumpy...

Ohlins R&T Coilovers with Swift Springs!

You could call it the preload setting, but changing preload doesn't change the ride quality. The spring doesn't get stiffer as it's compressed as long as it isn't in coil bind. Changing ride height by changing preload does change your relative amount of compression and droop travel. Currently...

Yes, I've tried decreasing damping as much as possible to increase the rebound. This does help make it less sharp, but doesn't keep the tires on the ground.
