No, I was hoping for some updates about solar roof on the Tesla earnings call but nothing...so now I'm just in limbo

This is really proving my own risk tolerance. It's weird to feel so sure one is right and everyone else (present company excluded) is wrong. I'm buying as much as I can.

I would be willing to pay about 25-30% more with a 3rd party installer. I would welcome working with someone that responds rapidly to issues, etc (ie not tesla). The problem is that the quote from RENU is for more than double the cost of what Tesla quoted me. Tough to swallow...

It looks like Tesla is no longer doing jobs in NC and is passing it on to 3rd party installers. I contacted RENU (official solar roof installer) and they quoted me 210% of my current Tesla price agreement...

I've owned 3 teslas. We have 2 powerwalls. Hell, I'm wearing a tesla solar roof shirt right now. If they came to me and said, "listen, we screwed up the original price, but we could make it work for a 25% increase" I would strongly consider that. Don't know why they have to be so dumb about it.

I just picked up VIN 145xx. Horrible ghosting unfortunately. Oncoming cars DRL are seen above their car and from the lights themselves even in daylight. It is very strange. I have mentioned it to SC, I think if enough owners complain we will eventually get a solution.

You can email the video directly to your service manager. I've done that with strange noises which makes it easier. That noise is abnormal no doubt. Definitely not related simply to increased heat from summer...although the AC unit can be loud from outside generally the road noise covers it up...

Hmm, I just talked to my DS about this yesterday and he said late 2016 at best for five seaters. This gives me some hope at least.
