Longer lasting tires for 21" wheels?

46,100 miles on my rear drive S75 with staggered 21" ContiSilents... New fronts @ 44,700 miles (a month ago) New rears @ 24,600 miles (10 months ago) Currently, fronts are at 10/32 (still new), rears at 5/32 (about another 3500 miles left before replacement).

Model S with 21" Wheels, Brake noise.

You have glazing on the rotors due to minimal, improper use. Those 4-pot calipers are built to take abuse. Screw the regen. Slam on those brakes and give those rotors hell. Find an open road and do three to four 70 to 5 mph slow downs using threshold braking (full braking force without...

How many Tesla hater you have run into on the road ?

None, but my cousin once teased me with some awesome 8200 rpm revs at a light from his V8 E93 M3. I used my mouth to imitate some revs back to him. I miss loud revving motors ...

Wheel Rash repair in Bay Area

www.wheeltechniques.com Have done business with Wheel Techniques since 2001. Always professional results in terms of finish, but the place itself is not exactly showroom clean like a car dealership. The place is in the middle of an industrial area so lobby and shop cleanliness aren't great...

    “Cruise Not Available”

Camera on its way out. Same thing happened to me a year ago. First TACC and AP stop working, then the blue lines and radar-detected cars no longer show. Informed service and got a new front cam a week later.

    Tire wear

Goodyears imply that you have 19s with a square setup. Then yes, typical for more rear tire wear because you didn't mention rotation at the recommended 6,250 mile interval on those original tires. However if you did rotate at that mile marker, then no, atypical because wear should be fairly...

Car squirely when I punch it at speed

My E60 V10 BMW M5 did this (violently) when the rear PS2s (running Dinan-spec 295/30/19 on Dinan forged wheels) were worn to 4/32". Alignment and pressures spot-on. New PS2s solved the issue, good for (only) a short-lived 7,000 miles. My S75 squirmed and pulled just a little once the rears...

How much faster do your rear tires wear than your fronts in staggered set up?

Just replaced my rear 265/35/21 tires on my S75 rear-drive (with coil springs) a month ago at 25,300 miles. Rears were 2/32" at the wear bars. The original 245/35/21 fronts are holding up at 6/32". Alignment within specs. Since rears are wearing about 2x faster than the fronts, looks like I'll...

    Aftermarket Blindspot Warning on Mirror

^^^^ +infinity! Most racing and track instructors will emphasize this. No car has blind spots when mirrors are properly adjusted unless it's a cargo van/truck with no side and/or rear windows. Mirrors aren't for viewing the side of your own car. Once a car starts to move out of the rear view...

Snow chains for Model S with 21" turbine wheels?

The 21" tires available for Model S are either winter compound (245/35R21 only) or max performance summer compound (245/35R21 & 265/35R21). Can you post a pic of your tire sidewall & tread? I'm curious to see what manufacturer makes said 21" all-season tire.

Negative Camber in the Rear and Expensive Tires

My S70 RWD now has 16,100 miles on staggered ContiSilent 21s and coil suspension. Camber check a few months ago show the rears in spec at -1.1. Rear treadwear is even, air pressure is set to factory spec of 40 psi cold, and the rubber is worn halfway to the wearbars. I expect close to 30,000...
