Is TeslaCam rear camera lower quality

Just checked my SentryClips and rear camera sentry clips don’t look as good as side and front cameras although it might be caused by the fish eye distortion. I’ll try daily wiping camera to see if it records clearer video.

    Help me understand battery consumption

Thanks for reply, you really understood my question. My question was not a complain as to where are the missing kWh or why I’m getting less than rated miles, it is more of trying to understand how the car works. I enjoy this car and don’t baby it at all as I come from driving a Chrysler 300c...

    Help me understand battery consumption

Ok, it’s possible that my wife might of sat idling somewhere as she drives my car any chance she gets. The trip meter for “since last charge” would be more helpful if it accounted for all power consumption not just while driving. Something like electrical meters do when you add CT transformers...

    Help me understand battery consumption

The problem is that on ICE vehicles you know the total capacity and you have an idea of the reserve amount. My wife’s KIA has a 17.4 Gal tank and if I run it to E I add close to 14 Gallons to refill, so I know there’s close to 3 1/2 on reserve. I’ve driven my wife’s KIA for 30 miles under E with...

    Help me understand battery consumption

I don’t agree on your second point because yesterday after charging I drove for 19 miles for a total time of 45 minutes. There was a lot of time stopped idling at red lights. My trip meter since last charge showed 19 miles 4kWh @ 209 Wh/mi. My trip meter since time I started driving also shows...

    Help me understand battery consumption

I charge daily Monday through Friday to 90%. On Friday I left work with battery showing 278 miles @ 90%. 90% of 75kWh is 67.5 kWh. I drove around quite a bit all weekend and arrived at work today Monday with battery showing 30 miles left. My trip meter shows that I have driven 201.3 miles @ 248...

Ripped Undercarriage Composite from the rain?

If you do tape, try not to tape around the square cutout on front center as that’s where water drains when the seep hole can’t keep up or clogs up as on this video.

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

After further inspecting the undercarriage on Saturday I agree with you that broken composite panels must happen from missing or loose bolts. Water on bumper cover should only be a problem if seep holes clog up on composite panel or if water freezes inside bumper cover. I enlarged drain hole on...

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

Yes, I had the same gap on lower left corner. I was told they had to remove bumper and readjust the seal but when I look at the before pictures it looks like it’s a different seal.

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

Yes, both weatherstripping designs keep water out of trunk, I’ve never had water in mine. If someone gets water in their trunk it must be because they didn’t close trunk all the way which has happened to me a couple of times. My concern with gap on my old weatherstripping seal was with water...

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

The new weatherstripping will keep water out of trunk but not out of bumper cover. Water enters bumper from behind tail lights. This is the same seal installed on my vehicle after I found my old one had a wide gap to bumper.

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

Update after latest car wash. Before drilling holes on bumper cover water would spill from front side of felt composite panel leaving one streak of water down the driveway. I covered drilled holes and only left holes 4 & 5 uncovered. On attached image you can now see two streaks of water that...

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

Thanks for the work, I’ll have to check and see if I’m missing any of those bolts. I watched one of my videos and see where it’s possibly draining from one of the holes you indicated. On the attached screenshot I marked that possible hole location and the spot where it overspills, which is...

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

I wouldn’t do that as water can enter from any side of tail light. It would take a whole tube of silicone to seal it. This is what it looks like with tail light removed.

Found out what’s causing undercarriage composite to break apart

I made video with front of car on lower side of driveway, about 2” lower than rear. I also taped up holes I drilled. Water ends up flowing to front side of composite cover. It also flows right through center once it’s soaked up.
