Powerwalls not charging to 100% when Storm Watch is triggered?

Storm Watch happened twice this past winter season (one happening currently) and I noticed in both cases the Powerwalls' SOC maxes out at 99% instead of 100%. On non-StormWatch days the Powerwalls correctly charge to 100% from solar. Is there a reason for that or just a glitch with the system?

    New tires before lease end

My MY lease ends in 8 months and I have 25k miles on it so far. At 20k miles I visited the service center for an unrelated matter and they did a tire inspection that showed 6/32 tread and specifically noted no need for new tires at the time. I've read somewhere that Tesla may charge me for new...

    Solar Roof vs. Panels

I feel it's become impossible to justify getting a solar roof based on pricing, and I think Tesla will likely shift focus to new housing developments. In 2021, I got a 7.2kw solar roof with 2 powerwalls for $20k (after tax credit and rebate) and felt the <10 year implied pay back was decent...

Daily reset/shutdown of my Powerwall+ and/or Inverter after coolant top-off?

Same here. Mind boggling how Tesla can't get this right, but at the same time it has minimal impact on production, so best to just ignore for my mental health.

Daily reset/shutdown of my Powerwall+ and/or Inverter after coolant top-off?

It was probably programmed incorrectly. At some point I stopped obsessing over it and then it just got automatically fixed. I'm sure it will get fixed this time as well and really not a material loss in production. Didn't happen to me this morning so maybe it already got fixed.

Daily reset/shutdown of my Powerwall+ and/or Inverter after coolant top-off?

I think it's a bug. The timing seems to be set to when the system does a software upgrade. I completely forgot about this for several months until the latest software update made it happen again, around 7am like others are seeing.

    Some Positive Feedback

Sorry to be a party pooper but I think the negative experience with Tesla is generally around its horrendous customer service and communication, not the quality of the product. in any case, good luck!

    Small bugs following firmware update?

The opposite for me -- app shows I have panels when I have the roof in reality. In my case, it's unrelated to firmware updates as this happened a couple a months ago after a service visit. Not going to bother contacting customer service given how incompetent they are. If it ain't broke...

Brand new model Y doors wont close due to window glass issue

This is a known issue and I had the same problem. Something to do with the light that's installed on the back door that shorts the circuit. I had a remote service visit and the tech new exactly what was wrong right away. Took 2 minutes to replace the light and it was fixed. Would just keep the...

Am I able to get Powerwall?

It's a bit odd that your meter and main panel are in different places. I have almost everything (solar, inverter/powerwalls) installed on a detached garage but then it's wired back to the main home/panel where I have the gateway and meter, through an underground conduit. That said, I'm sure an...

Why is solar going back to the grid instead of charging powerwall?

If this is happening in self-powered mode, I had the same problem, plus at times solar was getting capped at home usage with all excess generation just going to waste (not charging batteries or going back to grid). I was stuck in tier-2 customer service hell for several months but eventually an...

Exporting to grid when Powerwalls not fully charged

Good luck. Resetting did nothing for my system.

Exporting to grid when Powerwalls not fully charged

There were all sorts of other issues with my system so Tesla eventually sent techs over and everything got fixed a few weeks ago. Was just told that they had to "switch out a few things" but never got clarity on what those "things" were.

Midwest Snow w Solar Panels and Cold w Powerwall

I'm in the hudson valley, a bit south east from where you are. When we installed our system last summer, Tesla said I was their first solar roof project in the county. There is an authorized local solar roof installer (SunCommon) so they probably did some installs in the area but their pricing...

Midwest Snow w Solar Panels and Cold w Powerwall

I'm in NY where winter weather conditions are also pretty terrible. I have the solar roof (not panels) and snow seems to just slide off automatically, which is a huge plus. If you need a new roof, might want to consider the solar roof so you won't have to deal with snow obstructing solar...
