Moving from Mercedes E450 to Model S

I have the refresh Model S. The comments about ride comfort are above are still spot on. It is not a cushy ride, even in "Comfort." The acceleration, tech and handling are the key advantages. You have to put up with the glitches and upgrade process. The hassle is worth it, as the car becomes...

    New Tesla Mud Flaps???

I'm always amazed by how much debris the mud flaps block. Well worth the occasional scrapes. The scrapes are just a noise problem.

Yoke HORN placement tips and tricks

1/2" clear epoxy dot over the horn button. Easy to find it with your thumb. Available on Etsy. I've converted 4 or 5 Tesla owners to this solution. See Post #130 in the linked thread. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/6183757

60 amp or 50 amp breaker for Tesla wall charger?

Had the same issue when my Tesla charger was installed a few months ago -- supply chain issues on 60 amp. I've run the 50 amp with no issues since November. I'd only bother with an upgrade if my daily mileage was impacting my recharge time. Very unlikely.

Stunning Lucid Air Review Video w/Plaid

All refresh S and X have the yoke. I've come to really appreciate it. Of course, I won't be taking my Model S LR to the track.

    Sirius/XM app comes and goes

I have the same issue. Any tricks to get it to work again (other than the passage of time)? It's important to have multiple audio sources because one or two of them won't be working at any given time.

Work in progress: stalks on 2021 Model S. (and optional round-y wheel)

No indication that the dot is loose or coming off. If it does, I have a few sheets of replacements. It might be worth trying one on the headlight button as well.

Back end slipping/strange for some owners

Haven't driven my 2021+ Model S in the snow / ice much so far. I find the thread and driver experiences interesting because of how engineering of the various ICE / EV drivetrains differs, and the dramatically increasing importance of the electronics managing the driving experience. I enjoy the...

Work in progress: stalks on 2021 Model S. (and optional round-y wheel)

I haven't had to use the horn in an "emergency" situation. I practice reaching my thumb to the dot to build muscle memory. Very easy to find the horn button that way, without being obtrusive.

    Continental ExtremeContact DWS06

I have about 900 miles on these on my 2021+ Model S. Very predictable, good wet traction. Limited snow / ice experience on the S. I've had great experience with the Plus on a Chysler 200C (V6 - AWD), and with the prior version on a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Mustang GT. Very competent all seasons.

Tesla Failed to Send in my Registration

The title for my Model S (requested 11/27/21) was issued and linked to my DMV account earlier today. DMV staff told me that if they have the "tracking number" (Tesla may have it), they can give an update on status.

Tesla Failed to Send in my Registration

Similar issue. I purchased my Model S (Tysons, VA Service Center) in late November. You get a hard plate and registration card that has a blank title number, so no problem driving the S legally. The title application is submitted to Virginia DMV by Tesla. If financed, the title goes to your...

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

My ppf installer (wheels off for ceramic coating) confirmed that the wiring harness on my Model S LR (November 2021 production) was properly installed at the factory. Worth checking -- it may be an earlier production glitch.
