    6 Weeks & 7,000 Miles - Thoughts from a penny pincher (2023 MYLR)

I’ve done 3200mi in my first 9 months owning my MY and mainly charge at home only using the SC for the occasional road trips (2 so far). Did the maths the other day and I paid a total of 200 GBP for charging (home + public). Impossible to beat with any ICE :D Disclaimer: i live in the UK. I...

Seatbelt warning when passenger seat is empty

Fair. Don’t have the problem yet. The car seat causing issue is the heavy one tough which can’t be used with the vehicle belt. The lighter one is fine when empty.

UK bike rack recommendations for MY

As described in another post ( Fix4Bike tow bar bicycle carrier ) my Model Y came with a fix4bike tow bar wich gives some nice options for bike racks wich are east to mount

Do I need Tow Bar package if I will only use to carry bikes.

The factory tow bar on my model Y (2023) is a Oris Fix4Bike one. Gives you nice options for bike racks. I wrote about it in a thread but can’t figure out how to link it using the TMC app. Search for ‘ Fix4Bike tow bar bicycle carrier’ With two e-bikes, you put quite some weight on the carrier...

Seatbelt warning when passenger seat is empty

Two child seats in the back. Warning light comes on all the time. Bought those seat belt clips. Looks good and solved it. They are solid metal so have a nice feel to it as well https://www.tesdrive.co.uk/products/seat-belt-clip

    Fix4Bike tow bar bicycle carrier

I just got a new tow bar bike rack for my Model Y. Thought I’ll share my knowledge in case someone else is in a similar position: I discovered that there is a new generation of tow bars which allow easier mounting of the bike carrier. The system is called Fix4Bike, originally developed by Oris...

    Windscreen washer nozzle missing? UK

I noticed that the jet nozzle holder in the middle of the driver‘s windscreen wiper arm has only one metal nozzle on one side installed, while there is a hole on the other side (see picture). Is this normal? This is a 2023 MY MIC RHD(UK)

UK spare-part availability - X in for 3+ months waiting for part

Not sure that’s related to the car though. My home insurance increased by 50% this year. I’ve more a feeling that due to the current economical situation, companies use the excuse of inflation to hike prices

UK spare-part availability - X in for 3+ months waiting for part

I‘ve been waiting for a replacement floor panel since December. SC got one after a few months but it was damaged. It’s now scheduled for April. Let’s see if that works out

Tesla Model X - GivEnergy or Tesla PW

What ever you go for, check the inverter‘s noise level. I’ve a Victron inverter. While it’s working well, it emits a permanent hum which gets louder with increased loads which is audible throughout the house.

    (Geo)fenced in...

I’d expect the car only locks if it is scheduled for service. Otherwise you couldn’t drive to the service centre to e.g. test drive the newest Tesla

    I scratched my rear bumper

Managed to scratch the front bumper on my old ICE (narrow parking spot, touched house wall). I brought it to my local dealer. They charged 260 GBP for it (including fixing some other scratches one accumulated over the years). Repair was spotless, looked like new. Might be worth just asking a...

16 A charge limit in car/app. Car broken?

Sorry wasn’t clear enough. This is when I plug in the Wallbox pulsar plus. I can control charging current via the Wallbox but the car seems to default to a max of 16A with the plug plugged in but the charger not sending electricity to the car. Once the Wallbox starts charging, the car jumps to...

Other Home Battery Options? (PW alternative)

I was hoping by this time I can report back with some stats on how well the system is performing. Quite the opposite… The electrician I was working with pulled out last minute. Now I’m stuck with about 5000 pounds worth in equipment and do not have anyone to install it. Now I’m looking for a...
