I can see that possibility. The more the reason that AP users should keep their hands on the wheel. The car corrected the perceived danger but a strong grip on the steering wheel prevented the car from leaving the lane.
I was not able to see any warning/alert. I heard the sound and out of my periphery noticed something on the dashboard monitor. Honestly, this is good technology. I tell my wife that the "red car alert" you get when you're approaching a vehicle in front of you at too great a speed has possibly...
I have an AP2 Model S that I purchased new in May 2017. I do not have autopilot activated. A couple weeks ago I was driving on the highway and a tractor trailer was in the lane to my right when all of a sudden, I got a warning and the car began to steer to my left. The truck was not coming...
Just took my S75D in for it's 12,000 mile service. The SC said it was eligible for the performance update. I'm presuming this is the uncorking ... ?
I picked the car up new in late May 2017.
Thx, Robot. I will try that.
I ended up driving the car to the tire shop last night so as to not have to worry about how the tow truck driver would get the car from my driveway, etc. The problem is it'll take at least a day for these tires to be shipped!
When I got home today, I found this shard of plastic stuck in my tire. I wiggled it slightly and heard the hiss of an air leak, so I'm expecting to call for a tow tomorrow AM (or take it to a tire place tonight). This tire cannot be repaired, right?
I purchased the Model S simply because it was available in May/June and my 200,000+ mile E-class was not going to last until mid-2018 when a Model 3 would've been ready for me (plus I wouldn't have received the full federal tax credit). So I'd definitely get the model 3 over an S but that choice...
I used ARC Electric. The Tesla recommended electricians I recommended came in way over what Arc did (approx. $650). I posted a thread about the experience with the 4 electricians I had bid on my job.

Just got a note from my insurance agent that my VIN comes up as a 70D or 90D, not a 75D. Anyone have any idea why there would be any confusion? I looked at the Tesla's letter to the NHTSA and I see the battery size indicators are not coded in VIN (70, 75 & 90m etc.).
My VIN begins with...
Generalization aside, I agree with getting what makes financial sense, but people are free to do what they want. Life is short. I initially developed my interest in Tesla this past March. My car was 13 years old and at 200,000 miles. It was time for a new car and I needed it this summer at...
OP here. I ended up going with the non-Tesla recommended electrician who was well-regarded on the other hand. Approx. $675 to install the 14-50 receptacle and move around a couple other things to make space in my box plus included the permit work. Works fine.
