You do realize that the manual is only a guideline right? The manual requires you to use a minimum 6 AWG wire, Ontario code requires at least 8 AWG. Your local electrical code takes precedence over the what manual says as it differs from place to place.

The entire bar is 20.5" long, from the socket on the furthest end is 14.5" long.

If you scroll down to the very bottom of the manual, you'll notice that the one posted by Bobg5124 was updated in May 2019. Yours was from December 2018.
