Much appreciation to all doing the updates. We are from BC but pass thru there to Ontario with a trailer every second year. We have wanted to take the 16 for awhile. Looks like next trip we can.
Yah maybe. Unfortunately the TGL guys will snag one to do a test on “The Ike”. They’ll hook a 10,000 pound trailer up to it and get stranded on the IKE and the cybertruck will be famous as having half the range of the new Silverado.
They should hopefully at least mention a future long range...
I’m sure that will work for many. But we wouldn’t pull the trigger unless the range is north of 600 kilometres. My guess is that is a screen shot of a mid range CT
Jmho.
Hello ioquitor. It’s mostly dependant on
1. The trailer profile
2. The speed you tow at.
Weight has less to do with it. We tow a teardrop trailer with a model Y and we take about a 50 percent range hit. But it was about the same with our old Jeep Grand Cherokee. The model Y is a much better...
We are at the opposite end of the spectrum. Probably 3/4 of the kilometres on our 2022 model Y have been towing a small teardrop trailer. We are very interested in the Cybertruck and its principal job will be towing.
Just a heads up Sue. We have used FLO stations all across Canada and never had a failure on CCS or Chademo. It’s worth getting the app and RFID card. Pretty quick connect and excellent reliability.
Cheers.
Giving that a like as at least on the original set of tires most would probably just run with stock rubber if they are reasonably efficient. But when it comes time for replacement many will and do go with a more task specific tire.
We are pavement queens and depending on the range of the...
It wouldn’t surprise me to see the first mod that many CT buyers do us to put a set of highly efficient pavement tires on the CT. Off road holds no interest for us for example. But trailer towing range does. I wonder how much more range a good set of EV tires would produce?
(No idea really).
Jmho.
Absolutely. Especially in colder climates. And because of that we know a bunch of fellow Canuck’s who are holding off on buying a replacement for their Y until Tesla gets the range at least back up to what it was on models a couple years ago. Our two year old AWD model Y even after a little...
Sure. But it’s a reference. For example. A new model Y in Canada has less range (EPA) than our almost 2 year old model Y. And I know this because they actually give an EPA number. Numbers like this help people in the decision process of buying a car. Nothing wrong with listing range numbers in...
Until we see a GVWR sticker and a net weight of curb weight number we won’t know the payload.
Also. Again with no reference to range. Why the secret? Weird.
I kinda get it. We have a 2022 model Y AWD. We typically swap out cars every 4 years. Our Y has been good to us but the new Y’s continue to lose features and the range gets shorter and shorter. Or at least the ones available in Canada.
No more auto park,
no more lumbar support,
no more...
But help me out Arnold as I’m not familiar with this issue. (We have FSD and USS). Is it that those features currently show unavailable? Has tesla said they are not available? I’m not up on this.
Thanks.
Why would they do this. It literally gets worse every version. It seems all this would do would scare away more future customers (just in case they actually ever make it work…which is is doubtful if recent “progress” is any indication).
Jmho.
Good review. Your charging problems will be sorted out as soon as all the superchargers are open to everyone. Kinda cool as it opens up the choices to so many other brands. We will probably need or want a pickup in the next couple years. There will be lots of choices in a couple years all with...
Ok. Thanks for the info. I’m following a thread on Facebook that’s indicating that there is no squiggly lines or any distance indication. So to be clear non USS drivers are getting at least some type of distance indication around the vehicle.
Thanks for the response. If you wouldn’t mind can you elaborate on the vision a bit? For example, does it still give the little squiggly lines with a measurement to the wall etc like the USS presentation?
Thanks in advance.
John.
Hello all. I know the plan was to replace USS with vision but not sure if this has been abandoned or where this stands. We have a tight garage and this is important to us. Our existing Y has USS and its dead accurate.
Just wondering if we get another Y next year will we be setting up a tennis...
Interesting post. Thanks. But why is this. I was under the impression that it’s the same size battery. Has the charging speed increased? Aerodynamics better?
I wonder if the Juniper Model Y update will see similar improvements next year.
Thoughts?
Cheers.
Woohoo. Nice. I sooo prefer the 16 to 1. We’ll be doing that route at least twice next summer. And when towing our trailer we stop at least every two hours if not more often.
