What exactly happens to these complaints? Are the automatically aggregated by vehicle type and problem, or is there a human that reviews each case? If it's a room full of people that manually go over these, at what point do they get together and say "I think there's a problem here"? When does it...
Anyone know what's going on with the streaming API? This is what I'm getting from what someone posted back in 2018:
VEHICLE_TOKEN='[redacted]'
TESLA_EMAIL='[redacted]'
VEHICLE_ID='[redacted]'
curl --user "$TESLA_EMAIL:$VEHICLE_TOKEN"...
I don't know why you're surprised the video playback won't work on MCU1. Honestly, I expect V10 to be a pretty insignificant update for those of us with older cars.
"Please remember that you have agreed to keep the details of this release confidential and not utilize the information you gain from the program in any way other than to provide us feedback."
Nice.
I'm not sure I would ever trust a vehicle coming from an insurance company. Tesla is probably treating it as salvage. Have you tried it at a supercharger?
I was poking around the Tesla API, and this gives me ideas!

A fox hunt is when you search for a transmitter in an unknown location. It's typically a competition to see who can find it the fastest. It's good practice for when...
I've never bothered with the linear array, mainly because I don't see it as practical on a vehicle, plus you don't know if the signal is coming from the front or the back. They claim the linear array is better for beginners, but I only think that is because it's easier to put antennas in a...
The GPS in my tablet gave up after 10 minutes or so during yesterday's test. After removing all the points from when the GPS gave up, I actually got decent results.
I know what you mean about the rust. I had to clean the threads up a bit when I was putting this together.
I'll have to try the...
I figure the hams on this forum will appreciate this.
It's that time of year again where my local club hosts it's fox hunt. Well, unfortunately it got cancelled, but not before I finished this project.
Last year, I picked up a KerberosSDR in the first run on whatever crowdfunding platform it...
If you're talking about $60k BMW vs $60k Tesla, then you're absolutely saving money.
If you're talking $1k used Prius vs $60k Tesla, then no, not a chance.
I've noticed this. Sunday night I had AP set at 80 MPH, and I just let it cruise down the highway. Usually it would give up in a particular area with some sharp turns, but not that time. I haven't tested it much more beyond that.
It's been a while since someone confirmed the code hasn't changed...
It's in a garage with nose-first spaces (not my preference, but to each their own), and the food options are much better.
The one time I went to Gaithersburg I had to wait in a long line. I've never waited in line in Laurel, but I have taken the last spot.
Rather than simply unplugging the speaker, it might be better to replace it with an 8 ohm resistor of sufficient power rating, assuming the speaker impedance is 8 ohms. Even better, install a switch to choose either having the speaker on, or the dummy load on. Hopefully the wiring for the...
What was the low temperature overnight? The car starts limiting regen when the battery temperature is around 55F (12.7C). The battery is likely to be closer to the low overnight temp first thing in the morning because it has a lot of mass to warm up.
Sounds like an opt in to a waiting list to get in am earlier appointment slot as they become available. For example, if someone cancels their appointment, you get that spot that opens up.
If you made your plans around the appointment you already have, then the wait list might not be for you.
The sites on supercharge.info are locations with a permit filed or already under construction. Basically, it only goes on there if there is tangible proof there will be a charging site. Tesla's map is "we might put a charger around here somewhere in the future"
Patient: It hurts when I do this.
Doctor: Then don't do that.
Would you go drag racing with your condition? Honestly, I think you'd be best off not risking your health and saving a few bucks. Skip the performance model. The standard model has more than enough power.
Sounds like he's assuming Tesla=more money than brains. If you're just having him show up and change a charger, it shouldn't cost more than an hour's labor.
Honestly, I bet you have a friend or family member handy enough to change it out for a pack of beer.
That's a very busy service center. All the service employees are consistently busy, therefore they're not around to answer the phone, making them hard to get a hold of. It took a week for them to change out my battery pack, most of which was waiting on the part to come in from California. They...
The MCU is the center screen and associated computers. Hold down both scroll buttons on your steering wheel for about 10 seconds. Your MCU will go blank for a bit, then the Tesla logo will appear as it boots back up. You can do this while stopped or driving.
The Owings Mills service center is hard to get a hold of. Why are they hard to get a hold of? Because all of the service employees are very busy working on the cars, not standing next to the phone. They do their best to get your car in and out.
Hold the right scroll wheel until the menu to change the right display on the IC shows up, then scroll to "Car Status". You'll need to be driving to have numbers displayed there.
You say you last charged 7 days ago. I just looked at the last time my car sat for 7 days off the charger (Cabin overheat protection off). It went from 71% to 48%.
With some driving in there, I wouldn't worry about your losses too much. But really though, why not charge more often?
320-335 Wh/mi is a pretty normal number to get for the performance models.
Major factors that play into that:
Lots of short drives. Every time you get back in the car, the HVAC is working to cool off the car over again.
Going 70+ MPH on the highway
Taking off at stoplights
Keeping your cabin...
When the car sits idly for a while it goes into a deep sleep state and won't wake up with remote commands. When you go to get back into your car, you'll find that it will take much longer than usual to boot up, and will probably need the two button reset.
Certified fire extinguisher tech here (in the US, but these standards are fairly international)
Just get a standard ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher, and make sure it is securely mounted. Do not remove the tamper seal from the pin, or else you'll end up like this guy: PSA: If Transporting a...
I've only seen pictures of this, so correct me if I'm wrong. If you pay for supercharging, there will be a price counter in the charging display while supercharging, showing you what the session is costing you. If you have free charging, it will always be $0.00 it will just show no recent super...
