    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

Monday, 1/05/15 Here's how it looked at lunch today -- more like a supercharger station all the time! Power company there making connections, cabinets on 5 of the 6 stands, transformer in place (dark green, behind orange SkyTrak).

    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

Saturday, January 3 It doesn't look a lot different but you can see cables have now been run to the individual stands. Picture is dark -- stormy weather moving in, they'll probably have to stop work for a while.

    2 New HPWC locations

When I was last there they still had a J1772. I think I read that they were upgrading to a HPWC, I'd forgotten. They must have it installed now.

    2 New HPWC locations

I noticed the other day that Tesla has started showing other businesses with chargers on their website using small icons. Some have restrictions like hotel chargers for guests only but it's still nice to see them on the charging map. I think the one in Jackson MS is the Old Capital Inn. I've...

    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

Here are a few pictures taken Wednesday evening, December 17. Please excuse the poor photo quality but hopefully they're better than nothing and will give you an idea of how it's starting to shape up. Pics include an overview of the area roped off for construction; crates with the...

    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

Great progress was made today! Last night there was just the pod sitting there; today work started in earnest. I stopped by at about 7:30pm and they were still there, working til about 8:00 tonight. I'll post photos tomorrow. From what I saw tonight I think they might actually make the...

    Supercharger - Baton Rouge, LA

Work on the Baton Rouge supercharger has begun! I stopped by this morning and a truck from an electrical engineering firm was there along with a storage pod. I introduced myself and they were indeed there to begin work on the supercharger! He said they plan to have it operational by the end...

How important is design of a modern car?

I bought my car solely based on the technology and would have purchased it even if i thought it was ugly. The fact that it looks great is a pure bonus for me. But I'm not a guy......

Also stopped by the Baton Rouge site - nothing started there yet. I check the BR site almost daily. I'll post when I see any sign of construction.

    TuneIn Radio Stations Blocked?

This is an old thread so I don't know if anyone else is still having an issue with this but lately tune in refuses to play one of my favorite out of town fm radio stations. The setting is there, it's just silent. It still plays other radio stations. Suggestions?

faint high pitch background whine *any any speed* constant sound tied to accelerator

I think mine has always had kind of a whistling/whine sound when I press the accelerator, noticeable especially at low speeds. It doesn't really sound like the sound clip at the beginning of this thread but that might be the sound quality listening to it on my phone. I thought the sound was...

    map updates!

Release notes say map updates are only available with wi-fi. My S is not routinely connected to wi-fi when I'm parked at home. Does anyone know if Tesla sends a notification that a map update is available? If I got notice I could go park at a wi-fi location for the download.

Things you may not have discovered about your Model S?!

Just looked back and saw that the duster I mentioned is the same as the California Duster someone else posted, just a different brand. Whichever one you use, it sounds like the dusters don't cause the problems the microfiber cloths do.

Things you may not have discovered about your Model S?!

I use a little duster instead of a microfiber cloth and have had none of the problems mentioned here. I've had my S since September 2013. This is the duster I use for the dash and door panels: http://shop.flylady.net/p/%28HTD%29

Suggested Email to Potential Destination Charging Locations (Hotels, etc.)

Your letter is a good idea, thank you. Fyi, you may already know this but in Lake Charles, there is a McDonald's with a J1772 charger. When I got my car last September, instead of having it delivered I flew to Houston and then drove it home to BR. I stopped at the Lake Charles McDonald's for...

    Tesla Supercharger network

Aren't superchargers great? I was just comparing your charging screenshot with mine from the Angola, Indiana supercharger and noticed that where yours says 120 kW, mine says 391 mi/hr. I hadn't noticed before but I guess you can choose which to display?

Disney's current position regarding electric chargers

Newbie Question: Air Suspension vs Standard

I have 19" wheels and air suspension and am very glad I ordered it. Roads are rough here; I raise the car every time I go in and out of my driveway and also for high parking lot curbs. Also got caught in a rainstorm two weeks after delivery and was happy to be able to raise the car while...

That was probably me. Just got my 240v outlet installed at my apartment earlier this month so spent a lot of time at Whole Foods for the first three months of ownership... Despite that - LOVE my car.

    Indiana experience

I suspect that Indiana may be one of the states where Tesla stores are prohibited from giving out information due to state laws that protect traditional automobile dealers. From an article about Texas: "[b]ecause the law in Texas says automakers can't sell directly to clients, but only through...

Addressing factors that cause range anxiety

Most of my interstate driving is between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, 80 miles each way (160 round trip plus whatever driving I might do around town) so the more I think about it, I would probably be okay for most of my highway driving. If I do a round trip that includes a stop on the...

Addressing factors that cause range anxiety

How much range do you lose driving over 60 mph? The speed limit on most interstates here is 70 mph and you pretty much get run over if you drive any slower.

Addressing factors that cause range anxiety

After reading this I'm much less likely to follow through and buy the Model S I've been so excited about. I am single and don’t want to own more than one car (couldn’t afford it anyway) so taking road trips in my "other" car is out. Right now I have a Cruze Eco that I like and it gets really...
