    model 3 salvage car parts.

I have 4 useable original 18" rims with some scuffing. I replaced my OEM wheels with T Sportsline wheels and have been wondering what to do with the originals. I don't want to keep them.

Problems with "early" M3 production cars??

I picked up my Model 3 RWD June 12th, 2018 and currently have 45,000+ miles on it. Only issues so far: replaced glovebox that wouldn't stay closed, replaced HW2.5 w/ HW3.0 (did the charge pin replacement at the same time), tires don't last as long as I'd like.

    Autopilot Max Speed Setting?

"Do you have, and have you enabled, the beta traffic signal and stop sign support in AP? If so, that will force you to respect sped limits." Yes, I have it and have enabled it. I wonder why they for me to respect the speed limit with that enabled? I guess I'll just disable it. Thanks for you...

    Autopilot Max Speed Setting?

I used to be able to set the speed for my Model 3 to +5 mph over the speed limit while in Enhanced Autopilot. This was useful because I am certain my speedometer reads about 2 mph fast, so that when the speed is set to 55mph, I am really going 53mph, which is too slow. Sometime recently...

    Trip from SF to NY

I've made 2 round trips from western NY to San Diego in my 2018 RWD LR Model 3. The main advice I give is that if you are in doubt whether to stop at the next SuperCharger station or instead press on to the one after that, make the stop. You could almost certainly make it to the one after...

Long term(ish) Model 3 owners, how reliable has the car been to you?

I have a June 2018 LRRWD with 45,000 miles on it. Just been to the local service center for the first time yesterday to get HW3 computer installed. While I was there they also also updated the firmware and bootloader, and replaced charge port insulator pins with updated parts. Maintenance...

    HW3

Thanks JJ - I checked it out and I do have the new computer. I was pretty sure I did, but I thought I read somewhere that the autopilot needs to re-initialize/calibrate for about 30 minutes after the new computer is installed. Either that's not true or my service center drove the car long...

    HW3

I had HW3 installed yesterday (I think?). I took the car in for HW3 after making an appointment. Got a text message a little later saying they didn't have a computer available. Got another text message after that saying that they could install HW3 after all. Picked the car up this morning and...

Tesla Model 3 Long Range Test Proves 350-Mile Range Is Possible

With 50% high speed interstate miles, I guess I'm beating the EPA. When on the interstate, I usually use EAP. I don't spend winters in Upstate NY, though, so there's that. When I do the rare 100% charge, it indicates between 311 and 313 miles.

    Funniest Tesla Question Thread

I often get asked: "what happens when you run out of charge"? I respond: "What happens when you run out of gas in your car"/ They usually respond: "I haven't". And I respond the same way.

Phantom braking is the biggest issue with AutoPilot.

I think I'll try disabling automatic emergency braking and see if that improves the situation. Has anyone else tried this? Incidentally, when I had my event as described above there was no speed limit change, but I believe I was in the vicinity of an overpass.

Phantom braking is the biggest issue with AutoPilot.

I had a dangerous phantom braking incident a couple of days ago while on NoA on expressway. Usually I experience phantom braking as a very short, not too abrupt brake event. But the other day, a pickup truck was following close behind and my car decided to do a hard, prolonged phantom brake...

Is it me or is FSD/AP much better on 2020.4.1?

Have you tried shutting down the car for 2 minutes using the shutdown button (as opposed to pushing the two scroll wheels). After I did this, the car recalibrated whatever it needed to recalibrate and the ping-ponging essentially was fixed.

My Experience with Model 3 on NoA - What's Your's?

I have about 39,000 miles on my Model 3, of which I took delivery in June of 2018. My VIN is 229xx and I don't know whether I have HW2.0 or 2.5 I Have made 3 cross-country trips (western NY to San Diego) as well as trips to North Carolina, Connecticutt, and Toronto. In general, I love my car...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.50.x - Driving Visualization improvements, new voice commands, Camping Mode

I had a problem with the oscillation while going down the road. I read somewhere on this site that if you shut the system down (not by depressing the two scroll buttons, but instead by using the power down button) and keep it shut down for 2 minutes, it will initiate a recalibration. I did...

Had a Run-In with a deer on Monday

Videos of deer strike. It appears that the deer wasn't seriously injured. One video is from the front camera. The strike appears 48 seconds into the video. On the side video, the strike appears 55 seconds into the video. But with a deer running towards me from the left side, wouldn't EAP...

Had a Run-In with a deer on Monday

I hit a deer on the way to the gym on Monday morning. This was always a big fear of mine since I thought that the nearest Tesla approved bodyshop was hundreds of miles away. I didn't even see the deer until it hit the right front bumper and went flying through the air. I was only going 35 +/-...

Another tragic fatality with a semi in Florida. This time a Model 3

Seems to me that the truck driver is at fault here - failure to yield right of way. Why are there "no charges pending"?

    LR3 is too efficient

A picture is worth a thousand words. 20,269 miles since new in June. 50% interstate miles at 70+ mph. Incidentally, last full charge a couple of days ago showed 310 miles.

Someone just rear ended me. Does Tesla have pre-painted trunk lids and rear bumpers for repairs?

There seems to be a lot of rear collisions with Model 3s. I worry about it when I'm driving. I think that it is because the brake lights don't come on when using gentle regenerative braking while approaching a stop light or stop sign. I've noticed here in Tucson that drivers behind me often...

    450 miles of Range

So I found that it is easy to get 450 miles of range per charge here in Tucson. The streets in the city typically have speed limits between 35 and 50 mph, and it is very easy to time the lights so that you only need to stop at about 1 out of 5 or 6 lights. The steady slow speed combined with...

J1772 Adapter stuck, car won't charge

So this exact same thing (except in my case it was unrelated to weather) happened to me here in Tucson this past weekend. I was trying to charge at a Blink station, didn't know what I was doing, pulled the J-1772 plug out of the adaptor that was still in the car. The blue T turned red and...

My Model 3 never Stops Charging at Superchargers?

As an update, and as confirmation of posts above - After moving my 3 about 100 yards away from the SC and going to eat lunch, I returned to my car to find that the indicated range had increased from 301 to 306 during my absence - presumably a result of rebalancing.

My Model 3 never Stops Charging at Superchargers?

I rarely charge to 100%, but I thought I’d do it today since I recently read that one should do it from time to time. The thing is, it never stopped charging. The miles got up to about 301, then the remaining time-to-charge jumped repeatedly between 20 and 25 minutes for about 15 minutes...

Upstate / Western New York Delivery

I heard (on this site or maybe another) that Tesla will revoke the idle charges in a case like this. Might be worth a call. By the way, I and my Model 3 are usually located in Bloomfield, NY, just north of you. I say 'usually' because I spend the winter in the southwest US. I just drove out...

I'm looking forward to the time where it understands things like: "Wipers on Auto" "Increase (decrease) wiper speed" "Wipers off" "Increase (decrease) fan speed" "Front defrosters On (Off)" "Rear defroster On (Off)" "Open charge port" "Left (right) side mirror adjust" - enables scroll buttons...

    EAP issue with On-Ramps

Here in the east the merging section of on-ramps is often not painted with dots or dashes, so my Model 3 interprets the on-ramp section as just an extra wide lane. When on EAP, the car will suddenly weave to the center of this 'wide' lane then move back to the left as the merge section ends...

I live about 300 miles from the nearest Tesla Service Center. So far I've had no need to have any work done on my Model 3. But…I need to have the tires rotated. For those of you who don't have access to a Tesla service Center, who do you trust to put your car on a lift and rotate the tires...

Free Charging on 1500 Mile Road Trip?

I recently completed a 1500 road trip, relying on the supercharger network to keep the battery charged. My Model 3 is a RWD LR that I took possession of in June. What surprised me on this trip was that after supercharging, the charging display showed a $0.00 fee each time and I can't find any...

    AEP Disabled?

In the past week I drove my Model 3 from New York to North Carolina for a wedding. Yesterday, on the way back, after stopping to recharge at the Carlisle Superchargers on I-81, I could not re-engage AEP. The speed limit sign on the display disappeared, the Autosteer steering wheel display...

Should I Notify Tesla? Is it a bug?

Yes - I have Version 9. I didn't mean for this thread to be a harsh criticism of AEP. Just need to know if this is something that should be communicated to Tesla, and if so, how. RedModel3 above answered that question, so at this point I will follow his advice. Thanks for everyone's interest.

Should I Notify Tesla? Is it a bug?

So there is an intersection on a 2-lane route I regularly travel that causes severe trouble for my Model 3 when on autopilot. Nothing seems particularly unusual about this intersection, but my 3 invariably swerves into the opposite lane at this intersection while traveling at 45 mph (the...

    Inaccurate Speedometer

The speedo on my Model 3 reads about 1.5 - 1.7 mph high. Every time I pass one of those automatic radar speed indicators along the side of the road it shows either 1 or 2 miles per hour lower than indicated in my car. Is there a way for an owner to adjust this so it reads accurately or does...

    Received AutoPilot trial this morning

I just purchased EAP after the 2 week trial. I like it on the interstates, but not so much on 2 lane roads. What I really don't like are the 'false positives' where it brakes suddenly (usually for only about 1/2 to 1/3 of a second) for no apparent reason. I also don't like when it brakes...

Is the performance to "easy" to get yourself in trouble

Well, I was pulled over for speeding for the first time in 30 years about 3 weeks ago in my Model 3. Fortunately I just received a warning. I was demonstrating my Model 3 to a couple friends at the time.
