Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

Replaced under warranty? Curious how many miles you had?

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

Wow, so the "new" parts won't resolve this. Ugh, so embarrassing giving people rides and just annoying. Today has definitely has changed my opinion on Tesla. :( At least they tried fixing yours. I would have been happy with that.

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

Hi, ya, I can see when this thread was started. I just added myself to the list, and vented a little. The post you quoted, was in reply to jdw. Anyways, thanks for the link.

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

This is for my P90DL, no adaptive air. Did warranty cover it? They kept telling me noises aren't covered for Pre-owned warranties. I asked what about if I bought my car new, they said nope, kept insisting it's normal. Really frustrating...

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

The SC told me they are aware of the issue and that it's normal, but they have a re-designed part now that doesn't make the clunking/chattering. 1067361-77-C - AIR SPRING MODULE FR - MS2 DM Not sure what the old part number is/was though....

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

Add me to the list. 1st visit to Tesla- you are driving in low and the suspension doesn't have enough room to travel and dampen. 2nd visit, that's normal. There is a new design, but it's not covered under warranty, new or used. Looking at options how to proceed.... feeling really...

Lease return charges $ 3000 but Autovin inspection shows NO charge

When I purchased my car used from Tesla (2016.5 MS P90DL/lease return), it had 3 dents, damaged/scratched rocker panel, severally scratched leather steering wheel, etc. NONE which were disclosed online. I sent detailed photos to Tesla and they said it was "normal" wear and tear. I escalated...

Model S 2015 85D AP1 issue with centering in lane

Mine always stays towards the right as well. It's the one thing I hate about autopilot. I wish it would do: right lane, stay slightly right. If in the left lane, stay slightly left. But I'd definitely settle for dead center!

    Arnott Air Suspension Replacement Parts

I've used them before in my old Mercedes and they seemed well built and were direct replacements. The ride was OEM, maybe slightly better due to being newer (rebuilt) vs older worn air struts which were being replaced. If my struts ever fail out of warranty, I wouldn't hesitate to go Arnott.

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

WOW, I just got mine back and told them about the front suspension rattle. I was told I should NOT be driving in the low setting!!! They noted "Customer Education" and gave the car back to me. Ask me to make a video of the sound to help them. :)

    Random "Car needs service" message

I started getting this/these messages a few weeks ago, about once a week. Both "Please wait while system performs a check" and "Car needs service.....Car may not restart" messages. So I scheduled service. Once I dropped it off, they came back and told me it was the battery heater. A week...

What is *Actually* Involved in the Upgrade from Insane to Ludicrous?

I bought mine online from Tesla.com as a P90DL, so they added it before I bought it. I didn't have the Ludicrous "underline" badge under the P90D so when I discussed with my Sales Advisor, he looked it up and said it was originally a leased car, without Ludicrous. He said Tesla added Ludicrous...

What is *Actually* Involved in the Upgrade from Insane to Ludicrous?

When did you get yours? I shopped for a few months and they were upgrading them at the time and when I bought in Aug 2019. BTW, I think our cars are similar, and I almost went with the same Vossen wheels as you have.

What is *Actually* Involved in the Upgrade from Insane to Ludicrous?

If you have a 2016.5 P90D, then adding Ludicrous should just be a simple software update. Does your app or Tesla accounting show the option to upgrade? When I bought my 2016.5 P90DL, it was originally a P90D, that Tesla upgraded to Ludicrous to make it more marketable as little to no cost to...

    Help - I Totaled My Model S

Agreed, you need to replace the rear bumper beam. I've heard somewhere, some of the later Model S's have the reinforced beams, as they(Tesla) did away with normal or reinforced, and just installed reinforced. DISCLAIMER: I read/heard this somewhere, please confirm for yourself and don't risk...

App issue, no key, stuck at work

There is a button that you hit and it enables keyless driving for 2 minutes(must start the drive in 2 minutes, not for just 2 minutes). You have to use your sign in or in my case, thumb print to enable the "ignition" and make it able to drive.

App issue, no key, stuck at work

Never seen those errors, but sometimes my App takes forever to load. Like 10-15 minutes trying to connect. For this reason, I will never leave my key at home.....I'm just too damn impatient. Nonetheless, hope you got this resolved.

How to tell is the Battery is heated? P90DL

Holy crap, I can't believe I never noticed that. Ok, I kinda believe it, because it's so hard to see. But yes, spot on, it's there.....finally got some full power ludicrous launches yesterday! :D:D:D Thanks again,

How to tell is the Battery is heated? P90DL

So I've looked and looked (probably not hard enough), but I did do a good amount of searching, found info on the P100D's, but nothing for the P90D's. How the heck do I know when the dang battery is warmed up for Ludicrous+ launches? Firstly, I was giving friends/family rides without using...

    Disabling explicit lyrics... doesn't

I noticed the same thing taking my kids to school today. I thought maybe with one of the updates, maybe the "without explicit lyrics" button got turned off. But nope....it was still on. Wish it was a little more aggressive at filtering the adult language.

    New owner— Best booster seat?

I agree, my 5 year old fits perfectly fine, however, his little brother, is just a little too small to be back there, for now. So we like to keep them in the 2nd row.

    New owner— Best booster seat?

@Jard , please do respond back. My very tall 5 year old struggles with his seat belt due to the width of our current booster. I'm very interested in finding something narrower. Eagerly watching this thread! :-)

    Lowering P85d

Looks like your options are H&R springs that lower 1.2 inches all around (based on TireRack's website) and Godspeed springs which lower your car approx 1.3 inches (based on eBay ad). I'm sure other will chime in if there are other options out there. I'm unfamiliar, so I can't comment on...

Question from a guy driving Manual transmission for 15 years

I'm not sure how you could make the MS feel jerky while driving. I used to drive a modded NSX with heavy clutch and light weight flywheel for 8 years, the Model S is smoother than butter. But I still miss rowing gears.

New member: All Warranties are over, time to start having fun.

So....I wouldn't say all your warranties are expired, you should still have battery and motor warranty for 8 years/125k miles. 1. As for your list, dash cam has been discussed before and you should be able to do this fairly easily. I have a dual camera system, pending installation. 2. 3g...

    19" wheels and tires

I'm assuming the narrower tires gain more range, less rolling resistance, weight, etc. As for traction, I think 245 is sufficient due to it being AWD, electronically controlled, etc. This is my assumption, as I've never heard of anyone having traction issues. I don't have 19's, I happen to...

Anybody try the Nankang 21" tires?

It's geometry, typically the lower a car goes, the more camber results. Camber (as well as toe) causes wear. Most sports cars or cars that are designed to handle well, have some camber from factory. It compromises tire wear for handling. Some cars you can realign to have the camber dialed...

My experience buying used from Tesla was horrible. My service experience was perfect. I recommend to family, friends, anyone....do your homework, know what to expect, as with any purchase. I love my car, however, I wish Tesla would improve many aspects of buying used and from what I've...

    (2) BRAND NEW SILVER TESLA WALL CONNECTORS

Tracylee1994, don't mind the skepticism. The community is trying to protect each other, as you are probably aware, there is a lot of fraud these days. So when someone "new" or "newish" pops up selling something, it's paranoia, coupled with unsecure payment methods, etc. It's unusual someone...

My Model S 85D Story. Ordering to Delivery!

    California front plates...

Do any of those automated front plate holders work on our cars? I removed my front plate and don't really mind getting pulled over for it. I just don't want a ticket. Occasionally, I prefer to not be pulled over or give police any reason to pull me over, so an automated plate mount would be...

NVX Sub the way to go?

A fellow Model S owner told me in discussion that you can remove the factory premium/UHFS subwoofer and replace it with a SoundQubed HDS2 subwoofer, add an amp, and there is a significant improvement in sound quality. I have not looked into it further than that, but maybe another options. I...

    emergency escape

Yes, "Rescuing People that were in an accident in their Tesla's and are not conscious for Idiots" - the book by mspohr! You can also use your head, if you so choose. I was merely making an observation. I believe that has been an issue with some of the Tesla accidents. People are saying they...

    emergency escape

I think the problem is people are saying if/when in an accident, on goers that attempt to help are unable to access the car, because the exterior door handles didn't (hypothetically) extract. I thought they automatically extract when an accident is detected, but apparently that's the issue...

My Model S 85D Story. Ordering to Delivery!

Just got my plates and reg sticker. I think it came a week ago, but I rarely check my mail. They will ask you for your insurance in due time. It won't need the Tesla added, but I think they just need a copy of your current policy. No biggie. As for delivery, I'm curious how it works now...

Possibility of a 500 mile range Plaid Model S?

What size the the Roadster supposed to have? EDIT: Nevermind, I googled it, 200 kWh!!! Wow, would love the Model S/X to get that pack as well, once cost of production comes down and it becomes less cost prohibitive.

Possibility of a 500 mile range Plaid Model S?

You are correct, I confused myself. my apologies. What I meant, single motor, then dual motor: efficiency improved. Then Raven, new motor, efficiency improved. Now we are looking at Plaid, I'm not sure of efficiency, but beyond that, what would further advancements and/or moving to a 4...

Possibility of a 500 mile range Plaid Model S?

So it seems Tesla got more efficient with dual motors, and now plaid(3 motors). Wonder what will happen if each axle gets a motor (I.E. 4 motors driving each wheel). Maybe this, along with more efficiency and better battery chemistry will continue to result in improved range. Fingers...

Possibility of a 500 mile range Plaid Model S?

I love long range. We had a Passat TDI that would get 700 miles range. My truck does 600 miles, but that's because it has a huge 36 gallon tank. (Ouch $) I think Tesla will eventually get there, maybe wishful thinking. A 500 mile range would be a game changer (IMHO).
