    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

We know the AP software isn't great at spotting stationary things. But I also wonder if it "looked under" the truck. These are artificial trucks from a game, but there are lots of pictures of US trucks with this huge gap under them.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

‘Cars’ front-end structures are designed to manage a tremendous amount of crash energy in a way that minimizes injuries for their occupants,’ says Adrian Lund, Institute president. ‘Hitting the back of a large truck is a game changer. You might be riding in a vehicle that earns top marks in...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Very sad. I've always wondered why there are no side underride guards in the US, but apparently they are not very effective for cars. Might have helped a little in this case though. Relevant: "The U.S. government doesn't require tractor-trailers to have front or side underride guards. In...

No hatch-back on model 3 - Anyone else disappointed.

As a Yoorpean, I would have preferred a hatch or a station wagon, but I can live with a trunk. I don't really want a crossover (sends the wrong signals), but I'd consider that too. I probably won't get a Bolt (Ampera-E) because: * No three-phase charger, so limited to 3.6kW in my 16A-230V...

    Q1 2016 Delivery Prediction Competition

So if the issue was parts for the Model X, why were Model S sales down relative to Q4? I think they wasted a lot of time fixing quality issues on the Model X and that hurt their overall execution. But they don't want to say that. Disclosure: Long TSLA.

Supercharger congestion - a modest proposal

I think actually Tesla has a pretty good idea where you live.

Supercharger congestion - a modest proposal

I would not be happy with a choice between free congested superchargers and third party non-free non-congested chargers. Superchargers have some big advantages for long distance travel that I don't think third parties will be able to match: * Very fast charging - no other car can take this much...

Supercharger congestion - a modest proposal

At any time. If you are 20 miles from home and you have more than 40 miles of charge in the battery, you can't charge for free.

Supercharger congestion - a modest proposal

When I get my Model 3, I'd like to know that there will be a free slot at a supercharger when I need one for a long journey. Here's a modest proposal to make sure superchargers are free for those doing long distance travel. You can't charge up to more than 2x the distance between the...

    Show Us Your Tents!!

Only about 20 people at the Aarhus, Denmark office. Probably because of the tax that was added late last year, and which will increase every year at new years until 2020. Nobody believed that the Model 3 would hit Denmark before New Year 2017/18. Someone in the queue said Tesla sold about 100...

Thanks to Model ≡, Price increase is coming!

I think Tesla would not signal this unless it was a real price increase. This time it's same car, more money or perhaps marginally better car, more money (eg 75/100kWh). It only makes sense if the order book is healthy and the cost of all the manual fixes to misproduced Model-Xs have hurt...

Will Model 3 be able to tow?

To illustrate that Europeans don't think you need a truck to tow, here are the past winners of the UK Caravanning Club "Tow Car of the Year" awards: Tow Car Awards Yes, the 2013 winner was a rebadged VW Golf! 2013 | Tow Car Awards

Will Model 3 be able to tow?

I wonder how huge this trailer was. At 2921lb, the Prius is easily heavy enough to tow a small trailer without problems. But in Europe you would not have been legally allowed to tow anything because a Prius is also on the hitch black-list. :-(

Will Model 3 be able to tow?

I actually didn't know the Kangoo could tow. It's also available with 5 seats and rear windows, though it's still rather van-like. And with the tiny battery and 7kW max charging speed it really is only a city vehicle, even more than the Zoe. I guess I could replace the Zoe with a Kangoo if...

Will Model 3 be able to tow?

People writing that they don't think the Model 3 should be able to tow because they don't personally need it, that makes little sense to me. Great for you, but over here most people don't have a truck. I'll be out on the 31st reserving a Model 3, but if it can't tow in Europe I'll cancel when...

    EU Market Situation and Outlook

Still seeing deliveries at the 2015 prices in Denmark The numbers are very depressed relative to December. This is to be expected, since the tax was raised. However if you ordered your car before the new law was passed in October 2015, the manufacturer has until July 2016 to deliver at the...

Who is going to try out autopilot?

That would be a challenge! From Wikipedia: Bolivia has right-hand traffic, with the exception of the notorious El Camino de la Muerte ("The Road of Death")—or simply known as Yungas Road, where it drives on left. The reason for this configuration is to help drivers see their outer wheel while...

Denmark: P90D sticker price to increase 180% on Jan 1 2016

Workarounds These rules have been here for a long time for ICE cars and every workaround has been thought of and most of them have been blocked. What works is: * Lease the car instead of buying it. You come out ahead for expensive cars, though there's still a lot of tax. I'm sure Tesla will...
