Oem trunk isn't possible. The actual trunk lid and body panels are a little different if I remember correctly.

I don't recall if that 12v relay trigger wire is infact a PWM signal. If so, it could possibly make some leds flicker.

It's only on when any door opens and when the car is occupied.

It can be done. It's a matter of knowing how. It's not a standard procedure they use to do the config change. The change is not allowed in the GUI on toolbox3. The drop down "headlamp" menu is locked. It's has to be done the way @verygreen has said.

Service tech refused to even hook toolbox3 up to do the change. Idk what tesla is telling them. But the one that came out today said all connections to any car are logged. Which is expected. Though I am not sure if they really review this info.

They canceled my service appointment due to a technician shortage and rescheduled a week out... Tesla Service has gotta be the shittiest I've ever experienced. Honestly not surprised. Also just a heads up to those who may encounter a partially failed headlight. If it partially fails like mine...

I'll do the same aftermarket replacement on my other two cars when they go bad. To each their own.

I'm not telling anyone to buy anything. Tesla was putting black sealant on their oem fuca ball joints as a bandaid fix. That alone pushed me away from buying the stock replacements. Do with this information what you will.

What level of access does your exploited toolbox have? Did you try to run the commands using set vehicle configs odin task?

It's soaked. Recent rainstorm took it out along with my windshield wipers. They run off the same linbus communication. So I have no left headlight and no wipers.

Yep, they cut around the edge. You have to be really careful near the top led drl. It's got wires close to the edge. The glue on the 3/Y does not soften with heat from what I have seen. Few on the forums have done the black housing mod themselves. Do a quick search.

If the holiday update doesn't give me the ability to retrofit new headlights or give me more control over configurations then I don't really care. I'd rather not be able to make my car remotely fart. Just useless crap no one really wants.

Has anyone just tried to install the matrix lights and reinstall the firmware lately? I know it hasn't worked in the past. Maybe the latest software update will auto adjust? Wishful thinking? Maybe..

Look into the way python 3 does lists. Odin is a python 3 service. Wish I had access to toolbox to help you with the testing. May look into buying it if you get it to do anything.

Yeah they don't seem to be present in the consumer version. And in the service version headlights were locked out.

I went into service mode. Did the gateway unlock procedure and it did say gtw unlocked at the bottom with a timer counting down.

As far as I know. You would need toolbox to do the authentication then that unlock gateway procedure may work.

Hope it can auto detect headlight hardware and adjust. Basically make matrix headlights work with older non matrix 3/Y cars.
