Just a guess, but if its like the Volt, there are 2 small cameras 1 either side of the rear view mirror aimed at each front seat which seem to detect movement in the car. If I leave the car with the key, and the passenger moves then the alarm sounds. I make sure the passenger unlocks the car...

I was thinking the current rear cameras' view was too low. Especially when the rear of the can get rather close to the garage door when parked.

I believe we don't get Homelink here (I missed out on that with the Volt as well), so the auto opening and closing of the garage door will be missing from our version of garage auto-park. I understand that the forward camera would be able to detect when the garage door has been fully raised, how...

As a further thought, the car could toot the horn out the front of the house after it has retrieved itself from the garage, impatiently waiting for its master :cool:

If you had any influence in the implementation of the Auto-parking feature to/from the garage, are there any conditions you think should be included/considered? Just for a bit of fun ... while waiting for our Model S :love: If there was no driver detected in the drivers seat and auto garage...

Is that fair dinkum?! So all the hardware for autopilot is there by default; all sensors, front camera and bottom radar. That could save $468 by the configuration I was looking at!

They probably won't help spotting kangaroos on the side of the road as early warning then; if they only operate at slow speed.

On the Premium Package option, Fog & Cornering Lights are listed ... Has anyone got these on their Tesla? How do the cornering lights work? Are they both switchable from the steering wheel stalk or 17" display for example?
