Highland Front Styling, Better or Worse?

To be fair, the seats in my old SR+ also collected dust and crumbs in the horizontal crevices caused by the stitching in the bottom of the seat. But then again, I keep a small battery-powered vacuum in my sub-trunk and clean the car regularly, so no biggie 😃

Highland Front Styling, Better or Worse?

Don't knock it til you've tried it :) I was sitting in my car this afternoon, waiting on my wife who was inside the store, and it was 80 degrees out. Rather than run the A/C, I had the windows open, and there was a nice breeze coming through. However, my back was starting to get sweaty, and I...

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

Picked my new LR up yesterday to replace my ‘21 SR+. Joins my wife’s ‘23 Model Y Long Range. I’m just shocked at how much quieter it is compared to my old car. That’s my biggest takeaway so far.

Highland Front Styling, Better or Worse?

My comment was in response to mborkow's statements a few posts up declaring that Volvos were the ugliest things on the road and had been beaten with an ugly stick. I don't think that the Lucid Air is ugly. I was using it as an example: "If I just say that..." I could have easily put...

Highland Front Styling, Better or Worse?

I think there’s a difference when it comes to intelligently discussing the merits of styling. But if we’re going to devolve into just declaring something the ugliest car on the road with no reasoning behind it or justification, it just seems like a pointless endeavor. If I just say the Lucid...

Highland Front Styling, Better or Worse?

Exactly. People here are making declarations as if they are fact. It’s all subjective, so at the end of the day, who cares? Like what you like.

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I’m trading in my 2021 M3 SR+ for a 2024 M3 LR on Saturday. What happens to my existing premium connectivity subscription that expires August 20? Does it transfer to the new car? Or do they do prorate cancellations?

Switching between cash vs Navy Fed financing for transported used MY on delivery day

I'm also using Navy Federal Credit Union, and my pickup is on Saturday. Navy Fed overnighted me a check (it should arrive today), and I have a down payment that I'm going to apply electronically. So I should be fine applying the down payment on Saturday and bringing the check to the dealership...

Question about Model 3 trade-in (condition/accident report) with Tesla after door ding repaired

Teala ended up revising their estimate after I uploaded images after placing an order for a new Model 3 Long Range. Ended up being just $1,000 lower than without an “accident” reported. So all is well 👏

Question about Model 3 trade-in (condition/accident report) with Tesla after door ding repaired

I did get $1,100 or so in diminished value back in 2022 when the case was closed (thanks to the folks here that told me to do so). But Tesla and others want to ding me $4,000 compared to no accidents now.

Question about Model 3 trade-in (condition/accident report) with Tesla after door ding repaired

Ok, so two years ago, my Model 3 was hit in the drivers side rear door by a pickup driver’s door. Dude flung his door open and hit my car, looked at it, and then drove off. But because of how I was parked, Sentry caught his rear license plate in full view as he drove off. Filed with my...

Rivian seemingly plans to reveal R2 on Mar 7 at flagship Laguna Beach store

Of course, which makes it even more insane to expect Rivian to be profitable at this moment and expect them to have Tesla’s profit margins. Competition is fierce out there, but the company is making the right moves by introducing a cheaper, higher volume model.

Rivian seemingly plans to reveal R2 on Mar 7 at flagship Laguna Beach store

Fact or fiction. It took Tesla 8 years from the time the Model S launched until it made a full year profit? If it is a fact, then how would you expect Rivian to turn a profit already, when the first production R1T rolled off the line in September 2021 — a little over two years ago. What world...

Rivian seemingly plans to reveal R2 on Mar 7 at flagship Laguna Beach store

Exactly. People act as if being a from-the-ground-up automaker is easy to do. It took Tesla YEARS to become profitable, and it'll be the same for Rivian. If I recall correctly, Tesla didn't become profitable until Model 3 production started ramping. Tesla's first full-year profit came in 2020...

The DOJ Tesla probe has expanded to include EV driving ranges

For reference, 70 mph average drives for our Y (according to some digging through Tessie) are at around 328 Wh/mi. Drives with an average speed of around 63 mph are at about 295-300 Wh/mi. So it’s not too far off. I remembered wrong.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Rebate Undercuts Model 3 Highland By $9,000

Yes, the Model 3 RWD was cheaper last month. But that's not the case today, with the tax credit now gone for the Model 3 RWD and Long Range. And no, the Ioniq 6 doesn't qualify for the federal credit, which is why Hyundai is putting cash on the hood.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Rebate Undercuts Model 3 Highland By $9,000

    1) That sounds about right for our family. Our monthly income is roughly $9,000 take-home/after taxes (my wife and I combined). However, the median family income in the U.S. is FAR lower, and $9,000 of total family income could be two or more months' salary for them. So I agree, $9,000 is...

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Rebate Undercuts Model 3 Highland By $9,000

You are looking at this through Tesla-colored lenses. I’m looking at it through a purely economical sense. If I’m going to be purchasing a new vehicle for the sole purpose of commuting around town, want low running costs, and something that is comfortable and reliable, it makes sense. It’s...
