I remember when we separated social short term movements from short term movements, but it seems that the two have blended into the same thing and they should be combined moving forward.

Short analytics reports that the number of shares sold short today was 55%, vs 50% yesterday, vs 45% the day before, and yet vs 40 the day before that. In other words, shorts see the higher price of tesla as a more and more attractive target, AND YET THE PRICE GOES UP. I'm absolutely amazed...

For what it's worth, I've changed to bearish short term and I've reduced my position by half in the 194-198 range. I've been carrying the extra 300-500 shares on margin/in a margin call since 173, so I'm glad to lighten up. I expect we go into earnings in the 180's. If we go into earnings...

I have never had a margin call settled in after hours, unless I did it myself. All my broker solved margin calls are done at 3:45 the day an equity call is due and 9:31 in the morning the day after a fed or house call is due. It could be individuals settling their own calls.

I can confirm from Fidelity that this does not actually work. I talked to representative who said that this doesn't work. If you have the shares in a cash account, they will not be lent out. If you have the shares in a margin account, they will not be lent out unless you borrow on the margin.
