spoke to tesla this morning, my Model S which they originally said would be late may delivery now seems thats coming off the line then with a delivery scheduled for late june/early july. So maybe RHDs are a little behind schedule

I think for tax reasons they would be assembled in Europe

The chargers on this map, that show green pins can charge using AC at around 40kw however it will max at 22wk if you have dual chargers on board your model S. to be clear you must have a European Model S with type 2 socket not a US import You will need to apply for a card from Ecotricity but...

just a warning around Cambridge there is very little in the way of fast charging, 7kw is the best you are going to find. Park and ride sites have 7kw however they are going to start charging to park there, city center parking is crazy prices, its 10amps only and will cost you around £20 to park...

they should take a trick from lorry parking bays, paint a yellow line where the back of the car needs to be that you can line up using a reversing camera

but how many model S owners will charge on street, suspect most will be in car parks/superchargers or at home (off stree)

Would have been possible in the 60s pre motorways now would require all junctions to be re engineered, would cost too much

Daniel whats the process to use a supercharger ? Does it just work when you plug in or are there controls on the unit you have to operate to start the charge etc ?

So, given the model s in Europe has a standard type 2 connector do you think superchargers will work,with other types of cars, or is there something in the charger software that authenticates the car type ?

I suspect its probably going to be a case of promise 6-7 months and deliver in less time to make the customer happy. Its not like they drive them from the factory to the UK, there are big ships involved so I suspect a whole load will come in one big batch
