My *bet* is late August (deliveries).

I thought that the SP drop was mainly because of the weak deliveries in Q1, the 700m GAAP net loss then the raise at $240. Q2 FUD might have been the reason from 210 -> 177, but the SP climbed back nicely since then.

The company itself guided between 90-100k. Then multiple times they re-iterated the guidance. Why is this a bad thing / surprising that the factset estimate is at the lower end of the guidance? It's a conservative estimate based on the information from the company.

Well... they would miss their own guidance meaning that something prevented them to execute their own plan. Delivering 77k cars instead of 90-100k would put their 360-400k yearly guidance in danger. They also guided for a small loss for Q2. If they deliver less cars, that means a bigger loss...

With all fairness, Tesla gave guidance for 90-100k. Then re-iterated it in the beginning of May officially. Then there were two leaks about record deliveries (see the electrek post above). So why would they expect a lower delivery number?

I don't know. But I highly doubt that only short sellers contribute to this SP movement. Institutions are holding 57%+ of TSLA and only 20% of holders are retail investors. Just think about that what happens when they start to sell.

Like a 1 day 25%+ drop. Like what happened a few month ago to KHC or PCG. It feels to me like a controlled offloading of shares by big holders. I'm sure they will stop it at some point. EDIT: I mean imagine that you are a big hedge fund manager. Your clients keep asking about the performance...

I just checked out the spreadsheet with the carriers and 4 ships had arrived at the end of March in China. I'd love to hear an explanation too. EDIT: Adam Jonas's recent target explanation also mentioned concerns about the China growth plan. Maybe he got the idea from this particular report...

China is closer, last time they sent more cars to China at the end of February and beginning of March. The estimates are more like the top of the ranges I found on twitter. So let's say, 10-11k cars are on their way to EU/China at this point.
