New Model Y Very satisfying but NO HOMELINK

Ever think they decided to charge for it when they saw that everyone was using it?

    East Coast MY?

I've seen posts about delivery apparently out of inventory out west. Are any MYs showing up in NY, Boston, New England area?

Model 3 pricing - what's the bottom line?

The web page says you get an SR+ for 39,900. OK, then I need to add in options. Then there is sales tax and reg fees. From what I've seen on the forums there's also a 1,200 delivery fee - dealer prep, I guess. Not mentioned anywhere before they take your 2,500. I've also seen that for some(?)...

    Vermont "net metering"

Did some figuring. If I could fill up a 2 box system every day and use it all overnight, I'd save about a dollar a day, I think. Local install is about 13K. So the net metering differential would have to be a lot bigger. And I cannot really justify that kind of money as backup for occasional (I...

    Vermont "net metering"

My Vermont utility charges $0.20/kwh and I get a credit of $0.15/kwh for power returned to the grid. So its not really net metering. So the question is, can I justify a Powerwall? If I charge a PW during the day from my solar and use that power at night, it is worth 20 cents and if just dump the...

How far from a Service Center?

This story is so amazing its hard to believe. No wonder Tesla isn't making money. Service guys out on the road tracking you down when you head for a supercharger. Gives me a lot of confidence that the car will be maintainable even when far from a service center. Also interested to hear that you...

Ideal amps for charging long range model 3 at home

The point of the breaker seems to be to protect your wires, not a device attached. If your house has 14 gauge wires your breakers have to be no more than 15A. If you go up to 12 gauge you can use 20A breakers. You might have a single 4W LED lamp on a 20A breaker - no problem. If the device needs...

Ideal amps for charging long range model 3 at home

Pretty sure that’s backwards. Violates code to put a higher rated receptacle than the circuit is protected for. Trouble if you put a 50 amp receptacle on a 40 amp breaker. But you could have a 40A socket on 60A breaker.

    RWD vs FWD

Sport bike riders have dual disks in front and a tiny disk in back. Mostly trained not to use back brake. Rear is loose and along for the ride.

Home Delivery of used Model S?

Suppose you live in Vermont a couple of hundred miles from Boston. I assume TMC cannot sell a used Tesla in Mass since they cannot sell a new one there. So if you buy a new one they can home deliver it in Vermont. If you buy one of their used ones will they home deliver it? Will the $2000 fee...

    REAR FOG Lamps

My 1996 Saab and 2007 Volvo both had rear fogs. On the Saab the rear fog replaced one of the reversing lights, so mechanics doing inspections would always tell me one of the backup lights was out. On the Volvo I think it was just a brake light on constantly. Both were up high. Requires an extra...

    RWD vs FWD

One advantage of FWD is that is easier to design in understeer. In passenger cars I think that’s considered safer than oversteer as a failure mode when cornering too fast. Swapping ends while panic braking is not pretty. 911s were considered killers. Computerized traction control on RWD may have...

    REAR FOG Lamps

Rear fogs are red. On my Volvo (sorry) it’s just an energized brake light on one side.

    RWD vs FWD

Newbie question. Why is single motor configuration RWD? Hardware obviously all there to put a motor in front. Is it all about 0-60 and reducing wheel spin? Industry practice settled on FWD for some reason. Except supercars?

    REAR FOG Lamps

Aren’t rear fogs required in some countries? If so I’m betting the hardware exists and software can turn it on.

    75D Silver Model S, NH $45k, 36,000 miles

Not seeing any replies so I assume car is sold and you're not watching. I'm in Vermont and looking. So let us know if you are still selling.

How far from a Service Center?

I am actually closer to the Tesla service center in Montreal Canada. I don't mind paying in Canadian dollars. Driving across the border doesn't seem too big a deal. But a Tesla on a flat bed could really be a hassle, I'm guessing. I wonder if mobile service can dispatch across borders. What are...

How far from a Service Center?

I live in Northern Vermont. Thinking about my first Tesla. The thing is I am 3 1/2 hours from a service center in Mass. Seems like a seriously long way to go if I have a problem. And if I have a breakdown will Tesla tow it down to Mass for me? I have seen something on the internet about mobile...
