Blog Falcon 9 Debris Found on Washington Farm

Hasn't the F9 flown over 100 flights? And this is the first issue of this sort AFAIK. That makes the failure rate <1%.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Got 2019.36.2.1 last night. Rushed out this morning to try out one-pedal mode. Seeing as it was 40 degrees out, the regen braking was so minimal out of the driveway that I couldn't do a real test. Oh well, will wait for warmer weather, or a warmer battery. Happy to have it though.

    Fall leaves in the frunk!

I am finding that the fall leaves are getting into my frunk! They're collecting everywhere. It seems like there should be a rubber or foam barrier under the frunk lid near the windshield, to prevent such intrusions. Besides the annoyance of finding my frunk and surrounding areas full of...

    Tesla autopilot HW3

I have found that the car does in fact yield to cars merging from an on-ramp. In fact I find it's TOO yielding - it will slow down well ahead of the moment that the incoming car would enter the lane, even if the incoming car is currently going slower than I am. This is much to the dismay of...

"Snowflake" icon seen Model-3 dashboard & phone app.

Good news. 2 1/2 days after I wrote the post above I returned to the airport parking lot to find 47 miles on the "rangeometer". Apparently it was particularly cold (for October in Philly) one night which triggered the range restriction, but it apparently "went away". So rather than continue...

"Snowflake" icon seen Model-3 dashboard & phone app.

My M3 has been at an airport for 4 days now. I left it with 57 miles in the battery... less than i would choose but anyway.. today i checked the battery and it showed the snowflake and 37 miles remaining! It's not that cold but quite windy there right now. I will return in 2 days; the nearest...

Model 3 Zooms Through Boring Tunnel at 116 MPH

I would guess that in this case autopilot was steering the car, and the driver was pushing the speed up by leaning on the accelerator. I would be concerned about autopilot being "good enough" to maintain a distance of only inches away from each side of the path at 100+ mph. I guess it does it...

    Door ding! *#^%^$*%$ !!!!!

Today my wife managed to open the door on HER car too wide, and BAM! - I am now the proud owner of a Model 3 with a door ding! It's a little dent right on the sharp body crease near the top of the left rear door. It's it's first blemish in 5 1/2 months and 8k miles. AAARGH! I THINK it's a...
