Great news! Tesla was able to resolve both the supercharger fee (they said it was charged in error) and mcu1 failure through over-the-air software pushes! It was the most convenient fix possible. I tried to go back to my first post to edit it with this update to save people the headache of...
I’m fairly sure this is what is happening with my car then—weird timing with the supercharger charge. AP still worked for me as well yesterday.
what is black screen failure? Does the IC eventually fail as well? :(
Thanks! Luckily I had pin to drive turned off (mainly because I’ve seen the issues people on these forums have when they aren’t able to access the screen, although would love to use that feature for additional security). I didn’t know you can completely disable updates—will try that if the...
Are you sure it’s an idle fee? I think the language regarding idle fees in the message and everywhere else seems to be an FAQ-type thing since I’m sure that’s the first question people have. In this case, the balance is $6.20 and it clearly states it is because of a 20 kWh charge @ $0.31 per...
Yes, charged fine today (at a regular charger). Didn’t have the map and didn’t want to go to the supercharger since it looks like my access was disabled.
Yes, I tried both a soft and hard reset (a few times), but no dice. I did notice that after the soft and hard resets, my steering wheel was...
Fingers crossed! Mine came with 4 year/50k mile warranty when I bought it last year.
I’ll update this thread when I find out about the supercharger charge (and if the failures might be related) next weekend so we stay on topic here. Thanks, all!
Haha well I think you probably know more than I do (or at least might have a better guess than I would) on what might be happening here (with your “seniority”—is that the right term?—on these forums and those cool badges)! :) great idea on video! I’ve been taking photos but just also took a...
Good to know! Timing caught me a little off-guard since today is the first time I’ve seen the supercharger disabled message in-dash (and all the other failures happening at the same time). Hopefully can be resolved (or at least have more info this coming Saturday).
Thank you, Hank42! Luckily I have access to a regular charger at home so not in a rush but kind of annoyed now that (today) Tesla seems to have disabled a lot of the cars features including the turn signals (unless they are coincidentally failing at the same time—definitely possible). Hopefully...
Update for anyone following this thread:
When I went to start the car today, only my front dash screen would turn on, but now with a message directly in-vehicle stating supercharging is disabled. None of my big center screen, A/C or turn signals (scary when driving!) worked today (hazards still...
I’m 99.9% positive that it isn’t an idle fee because the screenshot showing the calculation of the fee from my first post seems to multiply the amount of energy charged (i.e., 20 kWh) with the $0.31/kWh rate to get to this balance amount owed (and I am careful not to idle out of consideration of...
Oh I agree completely. That’s definitely what I’m hoping and will exhaust this week first. I really don’t like to write mean messages anyways so really don’t want to resort to that!
That’s a good point! I’ll write a response to their nasty-gram with my own as a last resort. :)
I assume it makes sense to just send the letter to the main office (and also a digital copy through the tesla support website where I first requested help with this issue). Let me know if anyone is...
I actually haven’t tried supercharging again since I received the email so maybe it’s not actually cutoff either and it was just a mean email. I’ll try to stop by an SC today as well and report back.
Glad (but also sorry to hear) that I’m not the only one with this issue. Happy that you didn’t get your access cut-off though! Since it’s only $6 for me, I don’t think I can justify hiring an attorney, etc. even though that might be the “right” thing to do. Appreciate the seriousness you’re...
Thanks for all the suggestions so far! Just tried that number but there was a recording that said it was closed—I will try again Monday morning.
And, of course, my app is not connecting to my car now for some reason and it looks like it needs to connect to schedule a service appointment. It...
Thanks! I logged into my account online and clicked “Contact” at the bottom of the page and it doesn’t look like there’s a general phone number (maybe I’m missing it!). I assume calling the service center closest to me on the list of service centers makes the most sense but let me know if anyone...
Good suggestion! I’ll see if there are any open around me given COVID and report back. Please let me know if anyone else has any other suggestions in the interim.
I received an email from Tesla stating “Supercharger Access Unavailable” with respect to my 2016 Model S that has free unlimited supercharging (see attached screenshots). I went on my account and see that there was a $6.20 balance for a 20 kWh charge session @ $0.31/kWh added to my account and...
I should add that even though I was on the ground looking at the battery pack, it is still difficult to see the middle of the battery pack without raising the car (or crawling under completely) since the car is so low to the ground. Just wanted to give people a heads-up before you get down there.
My delivery went smoothly (16 days between deposit and pick-up), but definitely try to be thorough in your walkaround. I arrived about an hour before my scheduled pick-up time and found my car in the parking lot so had a lot of time to inspect it. There was some paint scratching under the front...
My DA also said personal check is fine (picking up in CA) and my DA sent an email confirming. The email noted that they will need verification of funds, which I'm guessing I can do by logging into my bank app when I write the personal check.
Curious to see what happens with Caiotrentin's delivery. I'm traveling cross-country to pick up a used car purchased through Tesla's website as well (deposited on 5/13) so have been following this thread closely. I hope Saxgod's car is ready soon as well! I chose to fly to the car's location...
