Agree that for TESLAs, we should put chains on rear tires. However, you absolutely put chains on front tires for FWD AND in most cases, if you only have 1 pair of chains for an AWD, you put them on the front tires. That's mainly because: Most cars have an engine in the front that is heavy...

Old thread I know, but just as an FYI - both the Model 3 and X specifically say to put the snow chains on the REAR tires (even if AWD), which is different from other AWD vehicles I've had.

That's fine. It means that your only usage of the car needs to be business purposes. Picking up a car that is for business is a business use. Just don't drive it for any personal usage that day, and you can take the full accelerated depreciation (assuming you purchase or finance) for 2019...

Well, spoke too soon... now they’re saying Dec 31.... If it gets pushed to early 2020, I’ll likely cancel and wait a few weeks to find out new things (and price changes) are in the pipeline since I’ll be losing the tax credit and my business deduction for 2019.

Wow, that sucks. My model X (also ordered mid-November has been pushed back daily and has been “in production” with a VIN for the past week. They have sent me an email saying that they hope it will arrive on Monday, but they are not sure.

No other manufacturer has as many initial build problems as I’ve seen with Tesla, so it’s not a bad idea, IMHO.
