    Model 3 Owners Manual

So that raises another question: does it have a split screen like the S, where you can keep the camera on but still see other stuff?

    Model 3 Owners Manual

In the manual it states that the rear camera is activated when the car is put in reverse. Does this mean that, unlike the Model S, the rear camera cannot be activated during normal driving? I like to drive my S with the rear camera on because visibility through the hatch back window is not that...

My mistake, sorry. So you WERE living in CA when you made the reservation? That could explain it. I still think these are not hard and fast rules. Tesla certainly made lots of exception when delivering the Model S.

But you may be special! ;) Seriously, you may be the only one not in California, and I think most of us who have been on this forum for a while are aware of (and appreciate) the contribution you have made to Tesla and EVs. Tesla knows that also.

Hmm . . . Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place, but all I see there about the interior is Premium heated seating and cabin materials throughout, including open pore wood décor and two rear USBs Nothing about black only, fake leather, white to be available soon. Also, when I go to the...

Do we know for certain that the "First Production" interiors will come only in black? What is the source of that information? Could that change? I ask because my wife is dead set against a black interior -- too hot. Also, are the seats fabric? I haven't seen much discussion about that on the...

I think that's probably right. However, I was told when I reserved that, as an owner, I would jump ahead of all of the non-owners (90,000-100,000?) ahead of me, and that there was no point in standing in line down at the Seattle store. Of course, any owners who did that would most likely be...

I've had my Model S since early December 2012, but no invite. I reserved online shortly after it was possible to do so, and live in Seattle. I'm guessing it doesn't matter when you became an owner, but that reserving early (at the event?) is key. Also, where the car will be delivered.

Yes, I remember from one of the screen shots that you can defer to wait for the AWD version and possibly also the smaller battery version without losing your place in line. What I'm wondering is whether they give you a time frame to fish or cut bait -- i.e., to respond with an order or deferral...

    200,000 cars sold by Q1/18?

For me, it's a question of whether to wait for the dual motor 3. The Delivery Estimator says I would get the big battery version in the November-January time frame, so likely eligible for the full credit, but the dual motor version would not be available until July-September 2018, so likely with...

    EVgo CHAdeMO Charger in Brooklyn

Thanks, all. Yes, I had consulted PlugShare, but I had not scrolled through all the photos for the Brooklyn listing, and hadn't seen the Model S. Hat tip to Oba for that. I do believe that the gap in Wyoming has finally been closed with the opening of the Gillette supercharger. That's what led...

    EVgo CHAdeMO Charger in Brooklyn

We're thinking about making the drive from Seattle to Brooklyn to visit our son and grandsons. We would probably be there for a couple of weeks, staying in an Airbnb apartment that is unlikely to have charging. Nrg EVgo has a CHAdeMO station at the Walgreen's on Prospect Ave., not far from where...

    Destination Charging

Not sure where to post this, but I just emailed the Oregon Garden Resort in Silverton Oregon to see whether they had a place to plug in (I'm going there for a wedding in September). They told me that they just installed a Tesla HPWC. It's not yet listed on Tesla's Destination Charging map.

Buying UMC in WA should be exempt from Sales Tax? How-to?

If you buy the twin charger as an upgrade when you order the car, there is no sales tax (or at least there wasn't, so long as the exemption lasts). However, if you buy the upgrade after the car has been delivered, you get no exemption. I tried, was denied, and then requested a formal letter...

    Billings to Rapid City

Looks like a supercharger between Billings and Rapid City will be the golden spike for the northern tier I-90 corridor. The TM supercharger map appears to show that something is "coming soon" in that stretch, but it's hard to tell exactly where. Has a location been established yet (no permits...

    Tesla Supercharger network

FWIW, I spoke yesterday with the SC Edison engineer who designed the high side of the Culver City SC, and he stated that TM has scheduled 50 superchargers for 2015 just within SCE'S service territory. This compares to 17 in 2014. I can't vouch for either number.

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

I'm sorry, my eyes are failing me. I meant highway 152 (not 162) running from Gilmore to I-5, a portion of which is two-lane road. There are several ways to get to Harris Ranch from the north, with charge stops at either Gilroy, Fremont, Manteca, etc. However, all of the currently available or...

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

Can anyone explain why, according to the supercharger.info site, a supercharger appears to be under construction in Rocklin, CA just a stone's throw away from the Roseville SC (and also not far from Folsom)? Also, the way I would normally travel from Marin or the East Bay down to LA would be...

Charging in the Willamette Valley Wine Country

The one at Le Puy is 240V 30A J1772. I don't know whether it is part of a larger network. The main reason it interests me is the possibility of overnight charging.

Charging in the Willamette Valley Wine Country

We are planning a trip down to the Willamette Valley from Seattle, and chose to stay at the Le Puy Inn in Newberg. When I wrote the innkeeper asking whether they have a place to plug in, I was told that they have not only an electric car charging station, but also a 9.9 kW solar array. I was...

    Supercharger - Coeur d'Alene, ID (LIVE Feb 2015, 6 V2 + 8 V3 stalls)

    The numbers make sense to me. 120V * 24A = 2.88 kW My NEMA 14-50 gives me 240V * 40A = 9.6 kW, a rate that is 3.33 times as fast. 3.33 * 8.75 miles/hour = 30 miles/hour, which is the rate I get with my NEMA 14-50. I own this adapter and have used it, but not with a TT-30 outlet. I adapted...

    Bremerton Chargers

For public charger stations, you need to carry the J1772 adapter that came with the car. You don't need your UMC, as the adapter connects to the end of the public charge station cable and fits the port on the car. However, I would recommend bringing the UMC and your NEMA adapters just in case...

    Supercharger - Coeur d'Alene, ID (LIVE Feb 2015, 6 V2 + 8 V3 stalls)

You can buy an adapter: NEMA 14-50R to TT-30P RV Plug Adapter. I know this one works. One user reported that he sucessfully set his car to charge at 24A using this adapter. Because the car sees the NEMA 14-50 adapter that this adapter plugs into, I believe you could set the charge rate higher...

A Day Trip from Bellevue to Vancouver BC in my MS-85kWh

Yes, it has been easy the last two times. Last fall I made the return trip without an overnight stop. I left at about 6 am and got home about midnight. I also took a brief nap in the car while at a supercharger -- I didn't need food, but the nap was delicious.

A Day Trip from Bellevue to Vancouver BC in my MS-85kWh

Francis, I just returned from my fourth trip to the Bay Area. My experience is the same: it gets better and better, with not a thought about range...

    Pacific NW - Superchargers

I just returned yesterday from our fourth round trip, Seattle - Bay Area. We saw no ICEing, unless you count the family that pulled its van in for...

    Pacific NW - Superchargers

When I did it, it was in March. It was cool, and there was plenty of snow, but the roads themselves were clear. The reason I wasn't worried was that there are quite a few charging opportunities on the way home. Many of them are private, found on PlugShare, but once you get to Tacoma or Puyallup...

    ToU billing from PSE?

PSE gets about half of its power from hydro, but most of that comes from run-of-river projects, with fairly meager storage capacity. While PSE's hydro was probably a factor in dropping the TOU experiment, the main reason had to do with ending the energy crisis of 2000-2001. Here is a good...

Great work, Jack! I have two questions: 1. Does Plugin NCW have a website that shows the locations of these stations on a map, explains how the projects are structured, offers a way to make contributions, etc.? I tried to show my brother in California what you all were doing, and the best I...
