    Phantom...gain?

If you've seen my other post, you'll know that I am an efficient driver. I want to qualify this post with this information, as it may indicate why I am observing "phantom gain" (i.e. rated vs actual miles or computer delay in calculation of rated range at the end of trip vs during/before trip)...

Drive unit failure, car says Pull Over Safely

@Xenoilphobe I have actually owned a German car. It was a Mercedes GLK 350. I switched because I wanted little to no maintenance costs. I understand where you’re coming from. It was just very unsettling and unexpected at the moment.

Drive unit failure, car says Pull Over Safely

twitter link for pics and retweets: Alexander Jogthong on Twitter First off, I just purchased a brand new 2019 Model 3 Standard Range Plus on June 23, 2019 from the Tesla Dealership on a Tyco Road in McLean, VA. It has roughly 6,000miles. My wife and I were in the car driving north on the...

Tips on how I averaged~190 wh/mi for 17,000 miles (so far...)

I’ve gotten this comment from many other drivers locally. I’ve never seen my efficiency beaten or even matched for the 20,000 miles I’m nearing. While I don’t think I have a magical motor, perhaps I do have a magical skills. I’d love to jump in another Tesla and see what I can do for it...

Tips on how I averaged~190 wh/mi for 17,000 miles (so far...)

Most recent stroll to DC, moderate traffic. I fully expect to be around 170wh/mi lifetime by 33,000 miles. Also of note, unrelated however, just purchased Xcelerate’s extended warranty. 10 years or 148,000 miles. I’ll be cruising for years.

I am interested in seeing, since my efficiency has now been reported amongst Stats (iOS) users, if any other users with similar efficiencies are around to post here. I'd like to get insight from another hypermiler.

More efficiency data for the curious minds on TMC. 100% percentile efficiency

Tips on how I averaged~190 wh/mi for 17,000 miles (so far...)

Just downloaded the app when I joined the forum about 10 days ago! Basically, I fall into the 0.2-0.00% percentile for efficiency o_O Even though this is just the last 10 days, it's nearly 100% representative of the 17,000 miles (sans winter)

Tips on how I averaged~190 wh/mi for 17,000 miles (so far...)

I certainly do. I try to be as courteous to others as much as humanly possible while maintaining my own safety and theirs. I have been pulled over three times lol. Although this may have something to do with the fact my windows only transmit 4% of visible light. LOL

    1) It would be interesting to see the inner schematics of the airflow profiles. I would be interested in hearing about this as well... 2) So far, no one has said a thing. However, I do try to only charge and park after the close of business, and if I need a big amount of enerfy in an overnight...

Tips on how I averaged~190 wh/mi for 17,000 miles (so far...)

Hahaha, you had me at "never did it again." It's more of a novelty thing for me at this point. I want to see how insanely low I can get it over extended mileage. Could be funny to look at in a few years. I do tear it up on the backroads every once in a while, do not get me wrong.

I should have paid more attention in my Fluids and Gases class in undergrad but darn isn't it impeccable that drag contributes to a fair amount of efficiency loss at speeds greater than 55-60. Of course, a majority of my underutilization of power is due to not traveling at 65+. Does anyone know...

Great discussion, David. I'm going to default to these behaviors as I continue to drive/charge. Thank you for the link. Longevity is key.

I recently spoke with a friend about his efficiency experience with his M3 LR, so he was surprised to hear I was getting ~430-470 miles of range per charge consistently for the greater part of the 9 months I’ve owned my LR M3 RWD. How? 1. Driving behavior To jump right in, I commute 50 miles...
