Model X keep on switching to 100% on its own

I believe It’s a bug. Don’t set it to 50. Try 55 or anything but 50. It’s been a bug for at least 6 months for me and friends with Teslas. I’ve not seen anyone online talk about it though until your post here. I’ve not had it happen from 80 or 90. Only when I set it to 50.

MX owners: PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR REAR FOGS!

FWIW, once I turned mine off, they never came back on themselves. I think they were just on at delivery and I had no idea it was a thing. It’s S and X. I believe they are on there because all S/X globally come from Fremont. I believe the there is an indicator on the top left of the driver...

MX owners: PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR REAR FOGS!

My S defaulted to on and I had no idea until my wife said I was blinding her when she would be driving behind me on occasions. I took it in to service thinking it was a defect. I felt dumb when they told me it was rear fog. I came from a model 3 and that’s not a thing. My guess is they have no...

Steering wheel blocking some parts of two screens in 2021+ Model S

Yes! I can’t see my exterior light indicators, like if my brights are on. It’s very frustrating and Tesla won’t offer a yoke retrofit yet. Though service mentioned off the record that they believe they will be offering it in 2024 and aren’t now due to changing to a better material.

Reservation Numbers are RANDOM and have no relevance

I’ve owned 4. RN112744… Invited and configured on 12/20. Waiting for VIN. KY Hope that helps your theory.

Available 1st Custom Tesla Fridge for Sub-trunk

It’s a bummer they doubled the price. Mine was 300 and I’d get another if it still was.

Reservation Numbers are RANDOM and have no relevance

The 2 trims have the same 123 kWh battery. I would expect the beast first too, so not sure why the lower margin AWD would be first.

Why does Tesla sell used cars with Full Self Driving?

It means it has the hardware installed for FSD to be enabled. Not that FSD software has been installed. You can buy it on that car. That’s all it means.

Aftermarket wheel covers for Model S?

I found this on Hansshow. Anyone try these yet? I like the turbine style ones from Rimetrix. I wish they would made S/X covers. I guess it's just too low volume to justify. https://www.hautopart.com/products/tesla-model-3-y-wheel-covers

    Is Tesla installing Powerwalls

You are right that it used to be exclusive to solar bundled. But that changed earlier this year back to being able to order PW without solar.

New to Me 2022 MSM Plaid & First Tesla

This should be a different thread, and I'm not trying to be antagonistic. I just want to understand what has led you to believe what experts who analyze this stuff, the entire Internet, and Tesla all seem to negate. Other than the base RWD trim of the M3 (LFP packs), the battery cells and packs...

New to Me 2022 MSM Plaid & First Tesla

I see your point. It’s misguided though. Being a most-American made doesn’t mean every part is manufactured here. But it does mean more parts are American than cars further down the list. So if your goal is to have as few foreign parts as possible, Teslas are your only top 4 choices in 2023. The...

    Where are the Extra Cameras?

All just hopeful rumors based on the HW4 leaked image having more camera ports. I think those are likely just for Cybertruck’s off-roading and hitching function cameras we see in photos.

Looking for the best screen mounted phone holder

Magbak is awesome for rigidity. It’s as rigid as the screen due to the corner mount. It works with MagSafe and Qi. Without a MagSafe phone you’ll just need a MagSafe compatible case. No janky holder mechanisms. Just the magic of magnets. :-) Charges but you can also pull the plug out a bit...

How long does it take to opt in to FSD beta on a new vehicle?

New vehicles come with unique code installed at the factory. You’ll have to wait for at least your next regular update as they have to merge the factory fork with the main code. That update may be with FSD for you since your code is older. It could be weeks. But there’s nothing you can do to...

Gen 3 wall connectors: 2 on same circuit?

yeah, I used Polaris. To me it’s logically the same as any shared circuit like lights and switches connected with waygo or twists. Just with higher current and larger gauge. And Polaris is pretty robust compared to those. . A panel with 2 more breakers doesn’t make sense since there is already...

To be clear, both my chargers are Gen3. You cannot mix Gens while power sharing.

Gen 3 wall connectors: 2 on same circuit?

Your first scenario is my exact setup. It works great. “I have 6/3 AWG to the garage powered by a single 60 amp circuit currently to 1 wall connector. I am awaiting delivery on my second one. The easiest scenario is to splice the line once it enters the garage using polaris connectors in order...

Who makes Model Y sound system?

Tesla also internally develops and updates the codec for their audio system. In theory it should improve over time. And for my ears, it’s the best sound system of any car I’ve had before. the YoYoMa and Bobby McFerrin album is divine in the Y. :-) Anyone named YoYo should be in a Model Y!

    Annoying rattle, any ideas?

I commented on this one back in 2020 as you can see. Tesla basically told me it was “within spec” by claiming it was just normal wind noise. The guy assigned to ride with me told me he had hearing issues. The center clearly didn’t find customer sanity to be important. The runaround was...

Small notices after 1 month of owning a mxp

You can use cruise control without autopilot. I don’t know how on the X but on the 3/Y it’s a single tap down on the right stalk instead of a double tap. Maybe someone here has the answer for the X for you though. You can drag the turn signal camera to multiple locations, but there is only one...

    Sharing home L2 charging?

In theory Tesla has this coming if you have 6+ wall connectors. Who knows when though… Also if you’re familiar with Unifi, this might be promising when it comes out of early access.

    Teslas future looks bleak tainted

Tesla will buy your car via trade in. Including Teslas. There’s no scenario where 50k is now 0. Maybe a big burn on instant depreciation, but not a total loss for those buying for the purpose of just selling it. The people I feel the most sympathy for are those that bought in the first 2...

    FSD Beta Problems I've Experienced

It’s disappointing they removed the FSD Beta bug report button. There’s no way to emphasize that a disengagement was due to poor or failing behavior for the dev team to look at.

Is there anyone who drives the Tesla 3 Standard Rear-Wheel Drive in winter conditions such as in the Prairie Provinces of Canada or the US States like

My friend does. The LFP takes a bigger range hit when the pack is cold. But he preconditions in the garage before he drives in the cold which minimizes that issue a bit. I think the bigger concern for me in cold climates regardless of EV vs Gas is RWD instead of AWD. I can’t get up my driveway...

    Muddy Model S

Sheesh. That sucks. Hopefully whoever took the picture did so after making sure the driver was ok. Maybe it was the driver. I wonder what kind of damage that does or if the seals make mud a non issue due to its viscosity (vs water).

Mercedes approved for ACTUAL self driving in the USA. And will accept responsibility.

Is it limited to highway or can it actually handle city driving? It says any other places it’s currently approved they are limited to 37mph. I would be surprised if they passed Tesla’s “AI” training in stealth with such fewer real world miles of experience data.

Are the Tesla sales people allowed to just completely lie to you?

There is indeed now a discount of $7500 being offered by Tesla team to people with prior interest. It’s not on the web site so far.

How is FSD ever going to work with current camera layout?

FSD Beta can be enabled everywhere I’ve tried it other than some parking lots where it didn’t want to engage. The numbers they report are not FSD, just autopilot and navigate on AP. So far FSD has zero crashes, so crashes per million miles is just zero. That will be more meaningful when it’s...

unadvertised differences between model Y performance vs LR? 11/2022

That’s cool but it doesn’t do the thing that is the purpose of the matrix lights, not blinding people when your high beams are on by selectively disabling pixels aimed at pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles. That’s the selling point for me at least. High beams at night all the time without...

How is FSD ever going to work with current camera layout?

I don’t think that’s the bar people are looking to be met. The goals for autonomy seem to be beating humans at safe driving, not sport driving. Even before reaching autonomy we are seeing better safety numbers and less loss of life with ADAS and FSD Beta engaged. Far fewer collisions per million...

Our May 22 Y is also no matrix. Disappointing.
  39. B

How is FSD ever going to work with current camera layout?

If a scenario happens where even a human shouldn’t be driving, why would we expect an autonomous vehicle to persist? Shouldn’t it also pull over with flashers and wait out the conditions until safe to resume, as a human does?

Driving Electric Cars Produces Little Carbon. Making the Batteries Produces a Lot.

Even if it were 50k for all EVs, most cars will be driven much longer than that making it a massive net positive difference. That ICE hobby horse is dead and beaten.

unadvertised differences between model Y performance vs LR? 11/2022

Parking sensor feature is coming to the non-ultrasonic models. MYP rough ride and shorter range are dealbreakers for me personally considering acceleration boost is pretty fast. Are they still not putting matrix on the MY LR? My ‘22 M3LR has them.

Driving Electric Cars Produces Little Carbon. Making the Batteries Produces a Lot.

Tesla reports that once you drive your Tesla 5,000 miles, you’ve offset the carbon footprint of making the vehicle. That seems pretty reasonable. Every mile driven in an ICE vehicle increments your greenhouse contribution, on top of the manufacturing output.

How is FSD ever going to work with current camera layout?

Each FSD release has improved my experience with it and decreased my needing to take over. Yesterday I had my first zero intervention drive in Lexington on this version. Very promising. I don’t trust it in bad weather yet. And the auto-high beams not being courteous keeps me from using it at...

How is FSD ever going to work with current camera layout?

The pillar cameras cover those areas. So far FSD Beta has been accurate in its perception of what’s around the car and improving with each update.
