Modern Spare for Model 3 on Model Y?

I have a Model 3 and the Modern Spare for it. The rolling diameter is 26.5. The lug pattern for the Model Y MS is identical, but the rolling diameter is 27.7". So the wheel will fit but the overall diameter is 1.2" less for the Model 3 version that the Model Y. That means the difference in...

    Locking doors while still inside

If auto unlock is off, you can also unlock by just tapping the button on the right stalk. So, tap once for PARK, tap a second time to unlock. A little slicker than reaching for screen since your hand is right at the stalk already.

    No garage door opener?

Yes, that was an unfortunate deletion. Just attach your remote to the back of the lower left corner of the display. I used those 3M tape connectors used for electronic toll systems (EZ Pass, etc.) so I can easily remove and reattach it to change batteries. Works perfectly, is out of site, and...

Setting max speed limit while driving

Why not just engage TACC? Great for stop and go traffic and will keep your max speed where you want it.

    Saved by the Tesla cameras

I agree in principle, but in reality there is NO incentive for insurance companies to do this. Quite the opposite. Such lies are in favor of the insurance company so the company would likely look at them as attempts to save insurer money. Why would they punish them?

What to do when you get a flat tire?

For long trips off the beaten path I carry a Modern Spare. It is big (full size diamter) but incuding the well in the trunk I can still fit 3 carry on bags plus some smaller items like a small gym bag, tote bags, etc. There are no special Tesla tires. Mine are Michelins. The foam is a tire...

Existing garage door remote not working when tesla close by

No problem here. When my M3 is home our other car operates the door just fine. Our daughter's car works it too when she visits. It's a liftmaster/chamberlain system.

Window damaged trim because of cold weather, Tesla won't replace under warranty

FYI, there are other model cars with frameless doors that crack the windows automatically when opening a door (Ford Mustang for one).

    unlock for passenger?

The car only unlocks on Park if you have it set that way. We've changed our setting so it doesn't. Then if you Park, it stays locked. If you want to unlock to let someone in, just tap Park button a 2nd time.

    Auto High Beam Turning Off?

Same issue here. Auto HB used to stay on. Now I have to manually initiate high beams (no Auto HB icon on screen and they don't come on by themselves) to get the Auto HB feature to work for that particular drive. Not a profile issue as I've checked that all profiles have Auto HB selected...

    Collision Repair Times Improving?

Ours was in an accident 1 month and 1 day after getting it. Put in body shop in Gaithersburg, MD July 24th. Initial estimate received Aug 8th. All parts received and repairs started Sep 11th. Picked up Oct 7th. So parts are still a problem (~61 days), but not like last year. I think given...

    Model 3 repair disaster

I'm in line at Kenwood too since late July. Communicated with them this week to get status. They said they are still waiting on parts. They specifically mentioned they have had a car since May and are still waiting on parts for it. So it appears you are first in line for parts/repair. I'm fourth...

    Flat tire questions

I got the Modern Spare. One other nice factor is that it is not a small spare. It is the same diameter (though not as wide) as a standard tire. So car will sit level and can travel up to 80 MPH. Takes up room in trunk, but saw some posts of folks who strap it up to the top of the trunk by...

AC runs when car cover is on and parked

Key data point is cabin temperature, not outside temp. At 85° cabin can easily exceed 105° and if overheat protection is on, AC would turn on.

    Tire Repair Kit?

TVAD, Where on Michelin site did you find statement that sealant repairs won't work with acoustic technology. They clearly state use of sealants voids warranty, but I can't find where it says it won't work.

New Model 3 LR AWD cars no longer have Homelink installed in the factory.

Yes, I too was disappointed when Ipicked my M3 up last week and found Homelink missing. My inexpensive solution was to mount my door opener with some 3M dual lock easy tape to the lower left corner on the back of my display. Same effort as a tap of the screen.

    Question About Autopark

Have used both parallel and perpendicular parking and both worked fine, though as others have noted, it's on the slow side. Had one instance where it couldn't perpendicular park when my wife was trying out the feature for the first time. That may have been a quirk of the conditions as the...

Latest Software Version For "standard" Update Option?

    Homelink Now An Extra Charge

What I did, at the suggestion of another TM3 owner, was to attach my garage opener to the back, lower left corner of my display. It's out of site and me or my wife can easily reach under the display and tap the button. Works like a charm and cost me nothing. You could use double stick tape...

Latest Software Version For "standard" Update Option?

Just got my Model 3 so am not familiar with the update process. Was wondering what the latest software version should be if I just have the 'standard' software update option selected? Picked my car up on the 18th and it has v2019.15.103. I believe if I check 'advanced' I'd get them more...

    Homelink Now An Extra Charge

Incredibly, Tesla no longer includes Homelink in the Model 3 even if you get the premium package. I ordered a TM3 LR AWD on June 9th and picked it up yesterday. No Homelink button. After chatting with Tesla online I was informed that after May 30th, Homelink was no longer included in the...
