2016 Model X P90DL-- Covered under battery warranty?

Nothing has been fixed yet, but my understanding is that they have to take the pack apart in order to get to the contactors.

2016 Model X P90DL-- Covered under battery warranty?

Thanks for your detailed response, Rocky. No repairs have been made yet and no errors have shown on my car, so I'm wondering if I should even authorize the work. This initially popped up because the colorful ring around the charge port was dimming and changing colors, which is exactly what...

2016 Model X P90DL-- Covered under battery warranty?

My understanding is that the entire pack is included under the warranty, not just the battery itself. The contactors are part of the pack, no?

2016 Model X P90DL-- Covered under battery warranty?

Tesla service center is saying this isn't covered by the unlimited mile battery warranty. Can anyone comment? See the invoice attached. Some background-- This is a 2016 Model X P90DL with 130k miles. Battery/DU warranty expires in March 2024! Last year we had the charge port replaced because...

    Model X- Prepainted Front Bumper?

I have a 2016 red Model X P90DL. I was under the impression that Tesla Service Centers sold prepainted front bumpers to customers. Today I reached out to the Berkeley, CA service center and they said they do not sell prepainted front bumpers over the counter, as it is a "Tesla only" part. Does...

    Tesla Insurance- Credit?!

Update: I called Tesla Insurance and apparently the "error" in their system was because their system failed to run DMV reports for some customers, so they were charging an "estimated" monthly premium. When they finally got around to running my report, I guess the monthly premium went down to...

    Tesla Insurance- Credit?!

I have no idea if it's a California thing. Full coverage. No accidents, but it is a 2016 Model X P90DL. Any other insurance company was trying to charge me double or triple the Telsa Insurance cost. My 2019 mini cooper s is about $150 a month through Nationwide for full coverage.

    Tesla Insurance- Credit?!

I am a California Model X owner and I have Tesla insurance. I pay about $180 a month. Today, I received a call from Tesla insurance saying they had a "system error" and they will be crediting me back $300 in the next 24 hours, and another $70 next month. Apparently this is a widespread thing...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

The shudder occurred during a hard acceleration when completely stopped or going very slow. It was not evident at constant high speeds like a tire issue would be. For example, the steering wheel did not shake or rattle like I've experienced in other cars with a tire balance issue. The shudder...

Uber Credits Instead of a Loaner Car at SC

Last week, San Francisco Service Center offered $500 in uber credits or a Tesla loaner through Enterprise. Apparently they were all out of their "free" Tesla loaners, so we just had to give them our credit card to hold $100 for the Enterprise loaner, which was refunded when we returned the car.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

I took my 2016 X P90DL (46K miles) into the service center last week for other issues, but also decided to tack on the acceleration shudder. The service center (San Francisco) looked at me like I was crazy and acted like they had no idea what that term meant. They requested I show them the...

    My used Tesla buying experience

I just picked up my used Model X from the Fremont location and had a similar experience. The only negatives were: (i) a door ding not shown in the photos, and (ii) only 1 working key fob, which I was instructed would be supplemented with a second key fob at a mobile service appt that they had me...

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

Does anyone know if you can apply for a sticker using a temporary plate from Tesla? Just picked up my used Model X and to my surprise, it had never been issued a HOV sticker. Do I have to wait for the real plates to come?

    Ordering Dilema

I’m having the same trouble deciding whether to go brand new or used. I’m more interested in speed than the newest technology, so I’m leaning towards getting the 2016 Model X P90DL. I can’t imagine I’ll keep the car for more than 3 or 4 years, so at that time I’ll upgrade to the newest thing...
