No further updates yet. Still says "Response Required".

    Yet another 2023 Model Y road-trip experience

I've got 1100 miles coming up this month, so I'm curious about your experience. Did it do way better on that leg than you were expecting, or do you not like letting it dip below 20%. And are you running 85 and still getting reasonably accurate SOC estimates at chargers? I thought they were...

Supercharger - Springfield, MO - North Beaver Road

I'm hearing construction completion around May 17 weather permitting. That doesn't necessarily mean operational though as getting the meter set by the utility, and commissioning by Tesla could take longer.

Is all neural networks really a good idea?

Stumbled upon this conversation, and while I haven't read 8 pages of followup, I wondered if anyone is thinking differently since v12.3 came out, given how well it's been received, and seems to do with just neural nets?

Branson must have had an issue with something. Current status says “Response Required”.

Checking again this morning, the permit status for Branson has updated to "Under Review".

    Supercharger - Branson, MO (speculation)

Based on a conversation I'd had with someone else, it's possible this listing just showed up yesterday afternoon. I had a tip about the location and found this just before posting. They don't allow searches by title or owner so you pretty much have to know an address. Branson permitting website...

Amazes me no Supercharger on east side of Arkansas

I tried calling awhile back and they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Latest news from the Tesla User's Club in AR is that their Tesla contact hoped to have it provisioned and online by end of this week. Construction is finished.

    Supercharger - Jonesboro, AR

News today from a member of the Tesla Owners group of Arkansas is that the utility company’s Tesla contact is hoping to have Jonesboro SC online by end of this week (July 22).

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

What I love about this DCC system and the electric room layout, is that any of the 40 chargers can be connected to any of the 200 tenants. I imagine an old telephone operator plugboard, swapping cables around from one box to another.

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

That's up to the tenant to ensure, since it's going onto their bill. The Clipper Creek handles have a hole in them you could put a little padlock through to prevent it being plugged into a vehicle.

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

I'd let this thread go and forgot about until stumbling across it today. I thought I'd come back to it now that the project is nearly complete. We went with L2 Clipper Creek single port chargers for the tenant's use, and have a couple of dual port chargers for staff and a retail space. For the...

This pic from the Arkansas owner's group shows one additional pull-in stall at the end. The last update I've seen is that the site looks finished.

Turning on rear vents for AC

When I picked up my old car after having service done, or when I get in a rental, the AC is always set as cold as it will go with the fan on high, like that's going to cool it down faster. People have a misunderstanding that they are affecting the temperature of the air being blown.

Latest dashcam recordings always 1 byte

When I remove my dashcam USB drive and plug it into a laptop to see my events, the last dozen or so in the "RecentClips" folder are always 1 byte. Is there maybe a buffer not getting saved, because I'm not doing any kind of a "safe eject" procedure? I haven't seen any such thing on-screen. I...

Turn signal lane change w/ autopilot?

I’ve seen some posts and videos of people using their turn signal to initiate an “autopilot” lane change. I’m not seeing that capability with my Mod3, 2019.20.4.4. I don’t have FSD and I’m wondering if those references are meaning FSD instead of autopilot. Is this supposed to be a capability...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Yes. From a city workbook FAQ Q. With power sharing capabilities of today’s chargers, ie to install multiple chargers behind one breaker. Would this be sufficient for the ordinance as it would significantly reduce panel size and costs? Example: 100 parking spaces = 20 parking space EV Ready...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

ChargePoint can limit use to authorized residents. That may wind up being helpful.

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

R3 is dormitories, fraternity houses, “congregant living” etc. R2 is multifamily apartments. All I have to do is infrastructure, but when a tenant asks for charging we would have to put it in. The way these projects are financed, we can’t defer something like that for later, so it has to be...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Frankly, I'm thinking of doing all Level 1 J1772, and maybe doing a handful of Level 2 just as a benefit to the community if we can find a good spot. Plugshare shows it's a bit of an underserved area.

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Our construction folks would beg to differ on the wire. The difference in conduit cost to upsize would be minimal though, so that's a viable idea. Funding for affordable housing projects has strings that every allocated dollar must be spent. The question is what is the right thing to spend it...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

An interesting comment from several of you has been to work with Chargepoint to limit access to tenants. I hadn't thought of that as being a possibility, so I'm going to look into that.
  24. wwarren

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Yes, we would do a J1772 post mounted connector even for Level 1. The ordinance would allow us to put in only the infrastructure now, but we'd have to put in chargers later upon tenant request. The way we fund these projects doesn't provide for spending money later on like that. It would have...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

No, it's off street for a specific building. No gated access though, so anyone could drive into the lot.

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Atlanta doesn't say whether we have to use Level 1 or Level 2, but just gets into charger and infrastructure requirements. It's our decision as the developer to decide what we can afford to put in. However, our mission statement is also to do right by our tenants and the community, so Level 2...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Thanks for the opinions. Given the way affordable housing development is financed, I'm told by our developers that there's basically no going back and upgrading something like this later. We make our money up front, and then have to operate the building for 20-30 years. Rents are designed to...

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

It's a significant difference. With 200 parking required, we need 40 charging stations. 40 120V/15A vs 40 208V/40A is a big difference. Service size, conduit size, conductor size, even space within the equipment room.
  29. wwarren

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

Keep in mind, it's affordable housing. Plug-in hybrid would be the most I'd expect anyone to possibly have there for a few years until used electrics fall more in price.

    Multi-family Level 1 or Level 2 infrastructure?

I'm a Tesla owner, and engineer with a real estate development company. We have an affordable housing development coming up in Atlanta across the street from a public park, where the city requires 20% of parking spaces must be built with infrastructure for EV charging, which in the case of this...

    Crystal Bridges charging

I've got a new Model 3 and haven't taken it on a long trip yet to need to charge anywhere but from home. I'm looking at routes from Springfield MO to Crystal Bridges as a day trip. Until I have more confidence in my range, I want to be able to charge there for the trip home, just in case. I...
