My new Model Y's range SUCKS

If you drive with a leadfoot the battery will actually give less total energy than if you drive with an egg under your foot. High wattage/amperage leads to energylosses and battery inefficiencies. Also vampire-drain, sentrymode, etc etc doesnt show in the energy used so measuring this over...

Rumor summary: Blind-spot cameras, Rain sensing, Level 3, Big battery, Interior/HUD

What? Is the Model 3-drivetrain that much more efficient? I haven't been paying too much attention to the 3 due to its size, but that is amazing if correct... Anyway, I am silently hoping to strike the jackpot of a midlife facelift for the X combined with a new battery. If they start using...

Rumor summary: Blind-spot cameras, Rain sensing, Level 3, Big battery, Interior/HUD

Same here. If a 130kwh-battery came out I would order a replacement for my P85D instantly*. Will be looking to replace it early 2019, and a bigger battery is the main wish on my list. Most likely switching to a Model X if the battery is big enough. *assuming the price doesnt skyrocket.

Pack Performance and Launch Mode Limits

This was my exact reaction to this response from JohnMc:) Reminds me of the good old days! Lets hope this is a sign of things to come, and not a one off thing. I have been very vocal in the past about Tesla not adressing similar issues/concerns, and this is a real step towards the golden path...

Pack Performance and Launch Mode Limits

Due to the lack of P85DEE-entertainment in this thread its either that or a very close cousin;) The "sue them" or "do something about it"-arguments are strangely similar.... How he managed to offrail the thread into a completely off-topic Elon Musk-twitter quiz/transparency discussion is also...

Has the quality of Tesla service gone into the toilet?

Yes, its interesting to see that 3-4weeks waiting is considered really bad in the US:) we would be cheering out of joy and celebrating in the streets for such a short waiting period! Here in Norway we regularly see people reporting 3-6months waiting for service appointments as well as...

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

I cannot let this one slide.. I dont think you have the slightest clue about what you are talking about here. Some of the guys who started the whole "complaining and whining" about the 10.9-number are indeed seasoned drag-racers. One of them is actually the guy who runs dragtimes.com and has...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Seems like this is the way they operate here in Norway at least. Never heard of anyone waiting long for delivery, but wait times for service is easily 3-6months on most service centers here. Has been like this for years now. Obviously they prioritise getting cash for new deliveries....

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Most likely 90% due to the forex-rate towards the USD making the cars absurdly more expensive since launch. An ok equipped 90D costs quite a lot more these days than I paid for my P85D.. ... A P90D now is almost 50% more than I paid... It used to be "cheap" , but now it isnt anymore... I dont...

Tesla's 85 kWh rating needs an asterisk (up to 81 kWh, with up to ~77 kWh usable)

Oh, I just realised i put my comment about Norwegian rulings yesterday in the wrong "needs an asterix"-thread:( Sorry for that! Should of course have been in the 691hp-thread..... But I think Andy indirectly corrected my mistake by crossposting it into thecorrect one:) so thanks to him as well:)

Tesla's 85 kWh rating needs an asterisk (up to 81 kWh, with up to ~77 kWh usable)

Please remember that the rulings here are based on the individual claims. My claim was similar, but with lower amounts. Otherwise your comments are correct. The ruling frmo the commision is legally binding to both parties unless Tesla brings it to the courts. Tesla has actually used hired...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Hehe, the inner child in me really want the underline for my badge more than extra shares;) no matter what I have some cash ready to buy more stock, but brexxit has gotten me a bit hesitant to put more in any stock at the moment.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Was referring to paying legal fees if they lose in court. In addition to the compensation. PR-hit was mainly that the newspaper jump at every chance of producing a negative articla with Tesla in the heading... But enough of me derailing here. Hope it has no effect at all and that I get an...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Wrong thread to discuss the details, but the ruling is more or less identical to my objections last year. The commision find it proven that Tesla on purpose used the 700hp-number for all it was worth without explaining that the car came nowhere near delivering it from the battery. Once again we...

Tesla's 85 kWh rating needs an asterisk (up to 81 kWh, with up to ~77 kWh usable)

No nothing on the P90DL, but the quarter mile isnt something that many people here really care about in the first place. I dont think there even is a dedicated dragstrip here. Old airstrips are used, but not by regular people. Horsepower and 0-100 are the numbers we care about here. Smart or...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Hope you are correct on the share price. Its the "caught selling with wrong specs"-angle I worried about. Not the direct monetary loss. Hope Tesla realize they risk paying much much more if they appeal. Most companies follow the rulings given by the commision according to the stats. And yes I...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Seems like the commision ruled against Tesla in all of the cases. Might get some media-coverage in Norway at least. Interesting to see if this is even a blip on the price of TSLA. Full disclosure, I am one of the people that got a ruling in my favor here.... But I have more invested in the...

Tesla's 85 kWh rating needs an asterisk (up to 81 kWh, with up to ~77 kWh usable)

First rulings done in Norways consumer disputes commision it seems. Tesla must pay 50000NOK(~6000USD) to the owners in these rulings as far as I can see. Tesla now has 4weeks to decide if they want to continue by draggin this into the courts or end it by paying the owners according to the...

Will the Model S finally get a HUD (heads up display)??

My gutfeeling says the model 3 wont be hud-only. That part of the prototype looked way to concept-car to me. Especially with how the model x turned out fresh in mind.
  24. D

Will the Model S finally get a HUD (heads up display)??

Why does it have to be a choice? Most cars with HUDs also have a regular instrument cluster as well. I would love to have a HUD similar to that of newer BMWs and similar in addition to todays setup.

    Popup on forums

This actually looks like a virus/scamsite that I've seen a few users get at work a few times. Everchanging urls and always offering ipads/iphones etc as prices in an attempt to get you to click. Never seen it on an actual iphone though.

No hatch-back on model 3 - Anyone else disappointed.

Totally agree, but the statement I replied to was that the competition didnt have hatches at all in the same series;) Fully understand it if Tesla ends up with this design by choosing headrom over hatch. Had I been in the market for a 3 I would have wanted a hatch, but I am not... New roadster...

No hatch-back on model 3 - Anyone else disappointed.

Yes, no doubt very different markets. I personally never understood why americans dont want the extra cargospace and ease of use of the hatch-opening. I had an Audi A5 coupe for a couple of years that had a similar trunk to the Model 3 and it was a hassle when moving stuff. Then again not...

No hatch-back on model 3 - Anyone else disappointed.

BMW has the GT-version of the 3-series as well as the Touring-stationwagon versions in the same series. Audi has the Avant-stationwagon version of the A4. Mercedes has the CLA shooting brake as well as the station wagon C-class. All with hatches.. Not saying the Model 3 needs a hatch, but the...

    Center console now standard

Dont really disagree about any of the other points such as door pockets, adaptive lights, missing HUD and the horrible cupholder-placement among many nitpicks. But the center console is a feature I really hate in most newer cars as it makes my right leg go to sleep on longer drives. Driving the...
  36. D

    Center console now standard

You missed the point. Your post described those with a different view as someone who had fooled themselves into believing they didnt need the console. Leaving no room for opposite views being ratinal. Leading to your view being the only rational one. Backing it up with majority rules/tesla...

    Center console now standard

Time to get off your high horse there. This has to be one of the most condescending post I've seen in a while here. You swiftly and simply dismiss other peoples opinions differing from yours as people fooling themselves. I have no problem understanding people wanting a console, but at the same...

  43. D

Tesla's response to me leaking info about the P100D?

As one of those that started the derailing of the thread here the point wasnt really if Tesla is bad or not in terms of OSS-licenses etc.. It was a simple way of pointing out that some die hard Tesla supporters were crying at wk057 sayin "you are messing with or stealing from Teslas licensed...

Tesla's response to me leaking info about the P100D?

If I remember correctly, from Dirks previous post on this subject, the userinterface is built using Qt and similar license-issue are applicable there, but my memory might be flawed on this subject.
  46. D

Tesla's response to me leaking info about the P100D?

If you dont want said info to go public, then yes its an issue to distribute this info to thousands of customers. Tesla is in my view lucky that wk057 discovered this and not someone out to hurt Tesla and/or TSLA. Why? Because it seems that wk shared only the most boring part of what he...
  47. D

Tesla's response to me leaking info about the P100D?

Dont think it can be repeated enought times in a thread where people attack wk057, among other angles of attack, for breaking Tesla licenses etc when Tesla themselves obviously dont really care about license-terms for the open source software they choose to use in their cars. Especially when...

  49. D

Tesla's response to me leaking info about the P100D?

Just to add a different perspective here on the issue on potentially violating tesla software-licsenses or not. According to several reputable members here it is well-known that Tesla themselves do not abide to several GNU/linux and similar licensing schemes in their own implementation of open...
